For those who copy the raw data, just know you will have to clean up the raw data. This is good practice. That way when you import into Tableau it will work correctly.

Thank you! Actually, you can check the column of the types and remove the third name from the dataset that you copied from GitHub, you need to do some data cleaning in this case :)

Yes sure! We can put it this way, backend is everything you do that the client will not see, all the data cleaning, for example creating calculated fields, parameters, how you format and so on, and the frontend is the final result which is in our case the dashboard, the dashboard is what you will present at the end. How can I make it so that I can filter the titles by individual genres? So the viewer can use it as a tool to filter and find what to watch based on interest.

You put genre in the filter and you select the different types

@@DataScienceRoadMap Since the titles can have up to 3 different genres, I would like to filter the genres so that I can find a show or movie based on just 1 or 2 genres. So if something was Comedy, drama, international, I could see the title when I filter it by any one of the genres. That way I can find it if I search for just "comedy" or just "drama".

@@dhwani2028 yes, actually this was the problem and also why I did not use it as a filter in the first place, if we split the string into separated words, then we get three columns, which is not accurate, one way is to rearrange the dataset using pandas for example and create the dashboard with the new dataset, but I used the dataset directly with the available information in it :)

Hi! Thankyou very much for this tutorial, I have learnt a lot :). I do have one question about the dashboard. I create dashboard and add action whereby when i click on different region, it will show the corresponding ratings, distribution, top 10 genres and total movies & tv shows by years according to the region i select. However the 'top 10 genres' chart would only show 7 genres when i click on united states region, 4 genres for Australia, 9 genres for India, and same issue for other regions. May I know what could be the reason for this? the setting for dashboard -> action -> 'Edit filter Action' is run action on select, clearing the selection will show all values. source sheets : Total movies and Tv shows by country target sheets : the 5 corresponding sheets ( ratings, top 10 genres, etc)

Hello @Bunny31, thank you for the comment, the reason for this is that for the countries selected, this is the only information available in the dataset, it is not an issue regarding the dashboard or the filters!

Once you will apply it on the worksheets and among those you have the worksheet of the top 10 genre, you go to that worksheet, you will find in the filters a new filter called Action(Country) and you add it to the context

Hello Saketh, once you have copied your data into a text file, save it as .txt or .CSV file, then you can start working by uploading the file into tableau :)
