Gets even better! If you have other software that does background removal it adds that option there too, so you can try different algos if one does not work as wanted/needed (the dumbbell one is an easy one!)

There is easier way to cut out items from images. Just right click the object in the imege, wait 1-2 seconds and at the bottom of the menu "Copy subject" option will appear. It copies subject to buffer, then just paste it to your timeline. Works on latest MacOS and Safari.

😂 Bro, you and me both. Although I do use Photoshop for more than that, I was also bringing images into photoshop just to cut them out. I don't think it's a new feature, but I'm also not entirely sure.

Hey Scott! Thank you so much! Yes so you'll need to drag it to your motion templates folder, then effects folder. I'd suggest looking up 'how to install plugins in FCP' on KZbin. That'll give you lots of options. I don't have one on video production, but I just released a color correction/color grading masterclass that I'm extremely proud of. Then you'll love it. I'd still recommend watching the FCP lessons though because they both play off each other. But all the before/after intros for the step by step color grading workflows were created with CF2 Pro. You can just create better looking grades with the plugin 🤘🏼@@turbostunt321

Basically by moving the position of the pop up, you're moving the boundaries of it. So instead of say, flying to the bottom of the entire frame, it only flys to the bottom of the moved boundary, which is not the bottom of the actual frame. So by creating a compound clip, you're essentially resetting the frame in a way. Hopefully that makes sense.

I had the Tap5a Effects installed, but didn’t know about the compound clip! Thanks! Will try it out immediately! If I want to copy the same animation to another image with cmd+shift+v do I need to make the new image a compound clip before, or will that option also be included when I paste the information? You absolutely have to worry about copyright. The solution is either make your own image or pay for the license to use them.

I duplicated the clip and used the draw mask tool to cut out my mouth, then keyframed the position. Really shotty work lol but because it's only a few frames, I got away with it.

Very nice and one of the most useful plugin animations. Was doing everything same except shadow. Thanks for that! Anyway since update FCP 10.6.9 on newest MacOS Sonoma 14.0 (MacBook 16 2019 Intel) out animations don't work anymore. Reinstalling plugin didn't help. Anyone has same issue with Tap5a plugin? Edited: I've just read message from Tap5a creator Tapio Haaja and with newest update 10.6.10 work totally fine like before! Great plugin!

Why can't this handicapped program have such basic functions built in? Why is Apple so illogical. Every even free program these days already offers such things, but in FCPX, of course, you need a plugin. It's a shame, because I'm thinking more and more about changing the program to Davinci even though I love the magnetic timeline and the way FCPX works.

A company I’ve done work for has been fined and threatened with lawsuits for using random images from the web.
