By any chance do you have or do you know any tutorial that guides through how to create create the text generator.mov layer that you are using for luma matte?

Hi, where can I download that text generator?

I don't think I've released it except for maybe Patrons, but you can grab it here. www.dropbox.com/s/vwc4j5qxevuhq7m/Text%20Generator.mov?dl=0 Here's where I first talked about it. workbench.tv/tutorials/2016-09-23_GlitchText02/

@@cotemoraga3608 You can pretty much do what you want with it, as long as you're not building a template or something with it to resell it or repost my renders exactly as your own. The fact that you asked means you're probably good, but if you have any questions you can email me through our contact form on workbench.tv.

Can you make full video??
@Workbenchtv5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean. This is all that you need to know to set up this effect. The rest of it is highly dependent upon the mattes you use and how you want it to animate. I'm just showing you how to set up the mattes to build the interlocking puzzle pieces.

@@Workbenchtv I'm not sure but he means, you just showed that you use pre-comps to quickly replace text, and that's all the video. that's why he asked about full video (where you show how make glitch transition example)
@Workbenchtv5 жыл бұрын
@@KirillBeerlove I understand, but I didn't just show precomping. I showed how to use Channel Combiner, Extract, and mattes to make puzzle layers for animation. The rest of the animation is just as simple-position keyframes and transition effects. We don't build tutorials that show the entire process. We only show what's necessary for a build to advanced users so that they can watch, and quickly go off and build what they want. If you're curious, there's more of an explanation of why we do that here: workbench.tv/blog/2017-05-28_WorkbenchStyle/ Additionally, a lot of the reason we do that is that we're not out to make robots. We want you to take the part of the technique that we show, and build on it to make other things. I don't want to lock anyone in to using one specific effect or technique to built the rest of it. For example, after I built this, I went through and found Set Channels was a better alternative than Channel Combiner. I also used Block Dissolve in later versions. If I showed the entire thing, there would be no room for setup or customization. Most people would just copy it and be done with it. This way, you're forced to experiment on your own, and you might find something better than I've baked into the tutorial. I hope that makes sense. I've had suggestions in the past of how best to explain it, and the only suggestion that made sense was putting "Advance tutorials for advanced users" in the title. That doesn't always work to my liking but it's the best I've got. For example, as you noted, this isn't particularly advanced, but the technique might not be immediately apparent and it can be used in advanced ways.
@Workbenchtv5 жыл бұрын
You can use Set Channels if you want to be able to use your matte as-is without it being stretched to fit the comp. Also, that BTS content I was talking about goes over the build for the final look, and the setup for Master Properties. At $5 per month, you get the project files as they come out and access to that BTS content. Check it out if that sounds interesting! If not, no worries! Thanks for watching! patreon.com/workbench
