Wow! Thank you sir Randy! Your training is very helpful especially to those business owners that are on their startup period. This really helps me a lot! However as I follow throughout your training, I experience a slight malfunction with regards to inserting edit row because whenever I inserted a row for some notes and changed my mind to delete that note on that specific row, there is no edit/delete icon that appears on column "U" and so I cannot delete that notes and it leaves a space in between the orders below. Hi and thanks. I go through that a lot and its a nice idea for a video. Some of the ways i currently flesh out ideas. 1. If its been covered a lot before. 2. If I am unable to add my own flavor or uniqueness to it. 3. If it would take to long to create or explain (I used to do larger, multi-part videos but much less now as the subsequent videos just do not get the views) 4. If i am unable to figure out what i want to do (like there are some great ideas using webhooks and API's but they often require OAuthorization and still trying to get my head around that) 5. If it does not solve an actual, real-world problem. Thanks for the great question and I hope this helps.

I did just have one question. When you select the printers, is there a way you can change what information would go to the kitchen. Like just the Item and the qty?

Let's say you store the name of the printer selected in a specific cell, and you know that printer is for the kitchen, say "HP Printer" in A1. You can write a line of code like this IF Sheet1.Range("A1").value = "HP Printer" then ActiveSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = "$C$1:$E$20" Else ActiveSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = "$C$1:$D$20" (or something like that), basically you change the Print area based on the printer selected. Great training! We can use this as a good base and we will modify it to use for the restaurant of our camp-site. I have a suggestion: In the VBA code you can add the line in the beginning to stop updating the screen (flickering) while processing the code: Application.ScreenUpdating = False 'disable screen updating And to avoid many times executing the Sub Worksheet_Change with this line: Application.EnableEvents = False 'disable events Ofcourse you have to set the eventtrigger "true" again after executing f.e. Becuase Excel is already on millions of machines we are building software on platforms that people love. It is much easier to bring the software to the people instead of trying to bring the people to the software. Hi Steve, thanks so much. The recording quality is high end and on KZbin as well, however it all depends on your connection speed. The lower the speed, KZbin reduces the quality. You can adjust the speed and the settings in your video settings which should improve the quality. I hope this helps and thanks.

@@ExcelForFreelancers just a thought and KDS screen is more basic then a POS system just saying ( KDS screen just replaces the printer and displays the kitchen orders on a touch screen instead of a paper bill ) but that being said you would probably have to build it into the POS application unless theres away to have excel act like a printer but ya you should look them up and see if you can think of something i know any kitchen people that watch your videos would love it if not ill have to figure it out lol but ya keep up that amazing work Randy

So instead of building the applications on a platform or format that people are not familiar with, we are building it in Excel, an application they use already. It is easier for us to bring the software to the people instead of bringing the people to the software. This allows us to create more solutions and earn more money by selling Excel-based software like I have been doing for years. Hey I don't know much about excel, but this video interested me because I was keen to learn about its powers, if I was tasked to make something like this I would just code it. I had a question about the image file paths, is it not possible to just ommit the full path and base it off where the spreadsheet is saved? For example just /food/pizza.png where food is a directory in the folder where the spreadsheet is saved, that way it would work on every machine without tinkering

Hi J, thanks so much. I do appreciate your comment. The answer is Yes. In fact if you download my version of it you will see an update in which there is a browse button for a folder. Once browsed for the food folder, you can then use only the picture names and not the entire folder path. This is something I added after I created the video. I have a couple of questions for those who are experienced... In the interest of saving time (before watching this video and establishing it's not quite what I'm after), I'm hoping to follow one of Excel For Freelancers' videos in order to create a POS system for a youth centre tuck shop. The goal is to be able to 1) record general transactions 2) establish tabs for individual customers in order for them to be able to pay later 3) set up a credit system where they can preload funds and spend whenever they'd like. My questions are: Is this the right video to complete the above tasks? or, should I be looking elsewhere And Can this be loaded onto an iPad or android tablet or does it need to be run on a pc/mac with a mouse? Thanks for replying back, this will work great, I just need to know how to change the categories names on the left to like Lemonade 1, Lemonade 2 Hot Cider, Hot Chocolate ext. but every time I try to change the name nothing will work ( pictures ext. ) any help would be great…. Thanks again

Randy, this is absolutely amazing as expected. Can I just ask, if you could clarify the status of these applications? Can they be freely used and downloaded? I'm guessing used yes but not comercially? Or can you sell your own apps that include your work or work you freely show how to duplicate/reinvent? Sorry if it's a stupid question. I'm guessing it's just as illegal as it is unfair to leech off your work, but where's the line between "I know how to make this and I made it" vs "I stole your app"? Hi Arthas that is a great question. The applications are free to download and customize, I just ask that you not sell the applications as-is. If i have the time I will create an application that is market-ready in which you can buy, as these are created in just a day or two and are not even close to being ready for a resale environment. Hi and thanks for your comment (i also saw your question in our group) if you have a USB connected register you can check with the manual on that and determine what keystrokes or special combination opens the drawer, you can then use the sendkeys command, combined with those keystrokes, when you want the drawer open.
