VideoPad Video Editor Tutorial: Create Basic Video Zoom In Effect
In this tutorial I show step-by-step EASY and SIMPLE instructions to create a basic video zoom-in effect. I used VideoPad Video Editor V 7.51.
TIP: If you are having problems with black bars when you apply a zoom effect please watch at 02:20 where I talk about the Restraint option. Setting the aspect ratio to match your video should fix this problem.

Thanks for the video. It helped me figure out how to do a gradual zoom in and then gradual zoom out. I was doing a lot of extra work making a little mp4 and then cropping and zooming and overlaying. Gradual in and gradual out is what I was looking for. Thanks again

i did the zoom but it created black outlines (the ratio i did was none and the videos ratio itself is a phone so it doesnt fill the whole thing)

Yes, you will have black bars around your zoom because it's not the same size (aspect ratio) of the video your exporting - which for YT is 16:9 aspect ratio. You might want to put an image or color "behind" it, such as I describe in Change Zoom Black Bar Colors or Add Your Own Background vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKe5oWSPj8ZkrdU Does this help at all? See 1:25 mark. Do you mean where you create "Split all tracks" marks? You are not actually "splitting" anything - you are merely marking beginning and end points of the segment you will be zooming in on, or performing whatever editing function you wish. It is just the vocabulary that Videopad uses. Hope this helps.

The closer together the "key frames" are the *less time* it will take VP to move from one key frame to another. The farther apart the "key frames" are the *more time* it will take VP to move from one key frame to another. I don't believe you can set an actual numerical time or speed. Does that help?

@@Austinator0630 Uhm, yes and no. The speed of the pan is dependent upon the distance between the key frames. You can make a very quick pan by placing your key frames right next to each other. If you're talking about changing the time length of the clip involved - that's another issue. Please see my "How To Change Sound Pitch" vid where I change the speed of a clip, which of course changes the time length. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3ikh6Nre72Hgq8 You could also first make your zoom/pan effect to the *entire* segment you wish, and then make "cut all track" marks of smaller segments and change the clip speed of each of those smaller segments to alter the length of time. Does this make sense?
