Girl, you have me with the drywall tape. I have some and use the front side and the peel Off backing as you do! I use it for a stencil too. Love it and the meat style as well!

How do you keep color from bleeding through to the back?

Sometimes it does bleed through a little bit. But, I try to be careful of the supplies that I use and the amount of water. The paper is my journal is medium weight So it works decently. You can also gesso your pages ahead of time if you are having issues with bleeding.
