From my experience as a teacher and learner of English, learning languages on your own (without a tutor or without attending lessons) IS possible. However, you need some basic knowledge about how to efficiently learn English and other foreign languages. What I'm sharing in this video is expert knowledge from my Bachelor's in Linguistics and Foreign Language Teaching and that I checked later as a language learner.

Oh and one more thing. My favourite English textbook so far is SpeakOut. It's the most balanced textbook I've seen (although there's still too little pronunciation there). It comes with a lot of supplementary materials as well and there's a lot of revision. This is not a paid promotion. I honestly think this is the best textbook I've worked with so far.
