But seems that Christ specifically commissioned his apostles & gave them authority over demons & such. They were all men. Then when reappearing to his apostles after his death, breathed on them & gave them authority to forgives sins & preach the Gospel. Then Paul says in 2 Tim. 2: 9 6 "For which cause I admonish thee, that thou stir up the grace of God which is in thee, by the imposition of my hands" ...so therefore commissioned by Paul's authority given to him by Peter (Cephas) . & in Galatians 2 ; 9: " And when they had known the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship: that we should go unto the Gentiles," so in affect commissioned as well So it was a calling but verified & authorized by a comission given by authority

But there's still the issue of the male hierarchy of the church not wanting women priests. We all can see that the Pope is not God; that's been proven throughout history with all the corrupt Pope's the Roman church has had, and I emphasize Roman. Roman is not the same as catholic. Rome is corrupt.

Going to biblical collège getting certificats in biblical studies are wonderful and degrees but no one needs a title to share the Gosbel when God sends you on a mission all doors he will open.preist, Evangelist, minister, Révérend, pastor must all be called by God anointed by God. The two Mary's were never apostles. The Virgin Mary was Christ's mother and as such had her own special role as Mother of Christ and Mother towards his apostles, definitely not the same role as an apostle. Mary Magdalene became a disciple along with many other men and women. The apostles were the chosen 12 and their role was a vocation to lead disciples and spread the good news and teaching the Gospel of the Lord, to the ends of the earth.

What a nice movie that everyone must watch. Great acting too from the cast especially in deliberation in the court trials. Both counsels were great defending their belief & stands same as the judge.The decision of the judge was correct but even the plaintiff won on this case still the Catholic church has the final decision whether they will accept women to enter the seminary to become a priest. It only shows that our judicial system has no control over the Catholic church teachings & beliefs. However she can still serve God even she will not become a priest. I just smiled coz the counsel proved that he's a good lawyer even he was known for not defending any cases. 😊

The priest is male because Jesus drained it to be so. He chose the first 12 priests and Priests act in persona Christi when they consecrate the sacraments. The reason woman are not allowed to be priests is ... during their menstrual cycle they are considered unclean and not fit for the alter of God. Similarly, in Islam woman are not allowed in temple when they are having their period.

Funny - the Roman Catholics accept married clergy from Anglican, Lutheran and Methodist traditions which makes those priests born and raised in the Catholic religion shake their heads. Might add the what many people call "Greek Catholics" ( not Orthodox ) allow priests to be married (not get married ) and they are a valid part of the Papacy! Some of the Apostles were also married. Anyway, they now have Communion services lead by women but the Host has been consecrated by a priest. Some of these concessions are being made because too few men want to go into the priesthood. The Anglicans are the only priests allowed to enter the Catholic Church as married men. It has to be approved by the Vatican and they minister to other former Anglicans In the Anglican Ordinariate. Lutherans and Methodist pastors are not accepted as preachers because they are not ordained. Anglican Priests have Sacraments which include Ordination. Lutherans and other denominations do not believe in the Real Prescence. They would have to convert but still would not be a priest. Catholic Riests have at least 10 years of study and formation.

I believe that the Bible clearly states that if God would have wanted women to be priest he would have chosen Mary his mother but Jesus called on man only and said on this rock meaning Peter I will built my church, so if women go against that they are disobeying the word of God. The Catholic Church is the only church founded by Jesus Christ…we have the bread and blood of Jesus christ in the Eucharist.❤✝️💯

Actually, the pope doesn't have the right to change the restriction of female being priests. Jesus made it clear in the Gospel, it's God's law & the church doesn't have the authority to change it

@@goldenarrow3 Doesn't matter cuz your "priests" are useless anyways; in fact, many of them bring shame to Jesus. They call themselves "father", when Jesus said to let no man be father except the Father in heaven. Women are better off; the sisters have done more for the downtrodden than all your priests combined. Let the males call themselves priests; we know better.

The Bible states emphatically, beginning in Genesis, that women are NOT to preach to men or hold office of the priesthood that God assigned to men NOT women. If Catholics put the Word of God FIRST instead of their own contradictory dogma, then this stupid discussion wouldn't exist.

The premise of the movie was a bit light on scripture. It clearly states that men are to provide leadership in the church. Women can be deacons, elders, teach bible classes, but not teach the congregation. You need not look to a priest anyway. Christ is our High Priest. The story was, though, a stunning transformation in the lawyer's lifestyle. He finally found a woman who stood for something.

Very light on scripture...based on denominational doctrine, not the Word of God & no scriptural reference to 'men only' as priests. Galatians says 'who should we please....God or man. - they chose man.. Good movie otherwise.

I have been watching this movie for 15 ninutes and I was able to understand that the priest and the young lady do not know what the Bible says about this situation; the only have the law of the church to rule their lives but not the knowledge of the God's will...

Great Movie, nowhere in the Bible does it say that ONLY Priests must be males. In fact it says that: 1 Peter, 2:9 We are a Nation of Priests, meaning all of us 😊🙏
