So glad you enjoyed this and it was helpful. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in this video or another one, BUT... I would actually not recommend doing them in advance of your pages. By all means have a play and practice like I have done there, but don't glue them together. It's sooo much easier to build the clusters when you're making the page rather than in advance and then trying to find a spot on the layout for them to 'fit'. I'd recommend making your clusters as you make each of your pages.

I loved watching you making these clusters. My biggest struggle with scrapping is cluster making, even after many years. I would really like to watch your entire process as I like hearing your reasoning and creative thought process while making these clusters. Also have a question…what to do when one of your elements has a phrase or statement on it that not go with your theme? For instance your first or second one said something about making lemonade and that is not something that is typical in most pages. Thanks so much and I look forward to seeing all of your videos.

Hey Sheryl, glad you enjoyed this one. I am working on a full 'real time' video as I do think it will help even more and a few creatives have requested that now. Yes, so to answer your question about something not fitting in, option 1 is the cover it up... I will often layer something on top of a part of an embellishment that doesn't fit and keep the rest. You can even layer a different sentiment over the top of a sentiment that doesn't work. Something like these amzn.to/487XIX5 are great because they are generic enough to fit with most things, and they are small enough to cover text on ephemera. The second option is to crop it off, sometimes the sentiment is at the bottom of an ephemera piece so I can just chop it off. The third option is to just be ok with it, I feel sometimes we think we need the perfect co-ordinating sentiment to go with the theme of our pages, I've learnt over time that the 'odd' embellishment that isn't a perfect theme match is totally fine, especially if you have carefully curated the other elements on your page. For example, just yesterday I included a 'peach' on top of a floral cluster, at first I didn't think it would work, but now the page is done, I barely even notice the random piece of fruit sitting on top of the florals 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you so very much for your awesome video tutorial on making clusters. It was very helpful. I have never really thought about making clusters like being theirs of a cake. For me clusters are quite a bit of trail and error. I like my clusters to have lots of interest and I often add in little hidden surprises but not so hidden that they are not seen. People often comment when they have a second look at my layouts they will discover something else. I think it is just how I create and it helps me to tell the story as I am not good at journaling.🙂❤️❤️❤️❤️

Your scrapbook pages are so lovely. You have a real talent for putting it all together. I only make my own embellishments out of necessity really. Here in the UK scrapbooking is not as popular and so we are very limited to supplies and what we do have access to is very poor quality. But hey, I love watching your tutorials. I’m learning so much.
