Down with ANYTHING DIGITAL!!!!!!!!! I hate digital it takes away from my creative experience. I need the tactile experience. I love mixed media, manual embossing machines, blending of inks, stitching on cards & papers, have since the 90’s. Crafting is my happy place, the environmental madness equalizer. Enjoy your video. Looking forward to viewing mire in the future.

Love it! I'm thinking that hand-made embellishments will continue to gain popularity. This can include stamping, die cutting, fussy cutting, etc. I myself make TONS of embellishments using my tools and supplies - for me, it's about being resourceful and thrifty, but ALSO about the sheer pleasure of creating.

Whimsy Stamps "NoFuss Masks" (new in 2024) are unlike anything any other paper company has and they are a major time saver for people who don't like to fussy cut. Likewise we have lots of uniquely themed stamp sets as well as clever dies, papers, and Quick Card fronts for more time saving solutions. So maybe time-saving products could be considered a trend??
@CreatedByGwen2 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for sharing this here Debbie, I've not heard of Whimsy Stamps before and am excited to check it out. Absolutely time saving solutions could be a trend, a lot of the new tools I'm seeing are definitely being pitched this way, to time poor creatives. We all want to do more in less time and tools that help us achieve that are great!

I am very new to the crafting world and have only been making cards for a couple of years now. I'm interested in using items that would typically be thrown away to help with organization or enhance my crafting projects. I'm looking for ways to make my life a little better through these upcycled materials. For example, I've learned that cereal boxes can be transformed into DIY embossing folders. Although I haven't tried making my own embossing folders yet, it's on my list of future projects. I've noticed that some KZbinrs create videos showcasing creative uses for everyday items such as plastic straws, water bottles, and cardboard boxes.❤️🤗

Welcome lovely!! So glad you found my channel. I haven't seen many videos like this, the embossing folders from scrap cardstock sounds interesting! I have soooooo much paper pads that is insane! DCWV papers discontinued that have more than 10 years that I don’t know what to do with it… People today are making their own patterns on Canvas and Procreate; no need to buy anymore, just print and voila! I feel, that it could be going back to what we hoard and repurpose it somehow.

We are inundated with so many releases by companies every month. Can’t support them all. I have enough patterned paper to last me the rest of my life, even after giving 1/2 of it to my cousin. I like using my gel plate to make papers. I will try to continue to use what I have (20 yrs. worth), although this past year I’ve only been semi-successful.
@CreatedByGwen3 күн бұрын
Yes, there are a lot of releases, and agree, we have to make choices between collections. I think many of us have more than we would ever end up using which is sad. I have really cut back on my purchases this year, but having said that, I've also not done as much as I really wanted to, so I guess in that regard I've had some balance. I only keep supplies I love now, no saving things up for a rainy day, but I totally understand why many crafters do, especially supplies from brands that are no longer making new collections. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. 🦋

I'm afraid there's going to be more using AI, which isn't just costing artist jobs, but the code literally steals from every artist it "scraped"... I wish companies would publish anti-ai stance to know which brands are still worth shopping with ...

Thank you so much for this. As a junk journaler here YT, I found it difficult to come up with that one thing that was different from the other thousands of people doing the same. It seemed that during the late spring and summer shops and online stores just stopped having anything in stock or different. Hopefully, you're right, 2025 will be different. A breath of fresh air is headed our way. I have faith.

Honestly, I think most of the designs in paper pads and collections in the past 3 years are just ugly. That's why I don't buy them. I prefer going digital and follow certain designers that offer that. I don't buy a lot of dies because I don't use repetitive shapes unless it's a generic shape I know I'll use, like a rectangle, circle, etc.
@CreatedByGwen10 күн бұрын
Digitals are such a good way to go if you create in this way. What designers are your favourites?
@afifthsparrow12 күн бұрын
An additional effect on changes could be cost. I simply cannot afford investing in varieties of papers and tools but I find this inspirational. With limitations, one must be more creative; and as long as junk mail and cereal boxes continue, there will always be basic resources! That said, I will never give up on physical over digital creating. Touch is a huge part of my satisfaction while creating. Thank you for your observations. I enjoyed and have now subscribed to your videos.

Yes so true. As crafters we need to recycle things we discard and try and use them in our projects 🎉🎉

You dont give up on the tactile aspect; you are just PRINTING your own papers (at home or at Staples). What's nice abt the digital products is that many (images & printed papers) come in JPG or PNG format (not just PDF) and you have the ability to size them for your needs. There is a lot of beautiful digital product - various themes, reasonably priced - on ETSY. Granted, printer ink isn't cheap, so cost-wise it the same in the end. But for me, being able to resize (in Photoshop) is bonus.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts (and subscribing!!) 🦋 I totally understand, cost is a BIG factor for many crafters. It is discretionary spending so often the first to go when money gets tight. Agree too that limited supplies (for whatever reason) does actually make one more creative, we simply have to be. I know I'm always looking at tags on clothes or wrap from gifts and junk mail to see what things can be repurposed. I really enjoy watching the Junk Journal gals create here on KZbin as well, they are all so so clever!!

Thank you so much for your video. This is all so interesting. I am not I person who follows trends. I just like to create in a way that suits me. I think we definitely see more digital downloads etc. Thos has become quite popular. I guess the advantage is you can print what you need and as many times as you like where are when you buy a paper collection it can only be available for a limit time. It will be interesting to see what happens next year. 😃❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Maree! 🦋 Thanks for stopping by today. I love that you create with what makes your heart happy, it really is the best way to do it. I like the idea of digital, but would use them as a printed version, not just electronically, so yes, how you describe. It's good that you buy them once and then print them over and over as many times as you'd like and you have the ability to resize as you need. I need to look into a really nice printer too for this I think. Yes, lets see what happens next year, I wonder how many I have right??? I need to check on the Pantone colour as well, that will be released any moment now.

Papercraft is not dead - many people are moving to digital art resources and printing their own papers and embellishments - much more flexible and LOTS cheaper, as it means you never run out of supplies of that particular patterned paper and embellishments. In addition many have bought/are buying electronic cutting machines which means stamp and die sets are not required - a cricut or Scan n Cut can cut out any stamped or digitally created image. With digital images you can change the size without any copyright issues, making them more versatile, ability to fussy cut them in intricate detail and, again have them forever for a very reasonable price.
@viannam54839 күн бұрын
I agree: a good electronic cutting machine is an excellent investment if you like working with images that you fussy-cut. Conventional stamp & die sets have become expensive and aren't as versatile. What you spend in one year on those can buy you an electronic cutter, and yes, there is a bit of a learning curve - but so well worth it! 20 years ago, when digital was in its infancy, I used to scan commercial scrapbooking paper and resize in Photoshop so I could print the design smaller scale for my albums. 12x12 albums were too difficult for my old mother to flip thru with her arthritic hands so I made 8.5 x 11 layouts then, using page protectors from Wallmart. It was economical and practical. Now I make my own albums too

I think we all love new innovations butt dm excited for upgrades like the stamp and stencil products. I will be doing my best to add some to my collection. The top plus for not a ton of innovation is that there shouldn't be a need for the terrible pre-order nonsense that was forced on us a few years ago. Companies weeeere pushing new products done if which are expensive and then we're not able to fulfill those pre orders because they hdn't even been made yet. Companies seem to have been trying to usethe the ore order money to finance making the products which was totally unfair to loyal customers especially those on limited income because they spent their money on products that didn't exist yet thus keeping them ff enjoying zntother new oriuxrs that may have actually been available to shipmoney to expend their product lines to the detriment of their loyal customers' bydgets

It's usually the big names like Vicki Boutin, Echo Park, etc. that you see a lot. The small business should be recognized more, and that's why I'm hoping people will check out Pretty Little Studio.
