Excellent video Steve! I'm really new to 3d printing and Tinkercad and you explained everything perfectly. I learned more from you doing this video than a lot of others I have watched. Keep posting. Thanks

Hey Steve, I still have the A1 on my list.... It looks like the enclosure is coming along great, and your adapter looks fantastic! I see Clack approves since he is smiling! Greg

I'm loving the Bambu A1 printer for things like this. It's very easy to use. Hopefully the TinkerCad videos help others to jump in and make some basic designs. Is Clack smiling or smirking? I can't tell! :D

I’m trying to use it more as it’ll be more approachable for people new to 3D modeling. Thanks for checking it out!

Very interesting, would love to do 3D printing, but that’s a new venture for another day!

It is a whole other rabbit hole to dive down but in some ways it can compliment lasers and cnc routers in the workshop.

Great tutorial as always and quite a coincidence, I made pretty much the same part but doing it 100mm (uk) I also added a bit of a baffle and a separate ring so I could secure insect mesh as I used it in a soffit to extract from a bathroom fan. It's on Maker world listed as: Vent outlet for 100mm pipe. I think Tinkercad is perfect for designing everyday objects like this and it is reasonably easy to get to grips with for someone that has never done 3d design before. Looking forward to seeing the enclosure finished.

I’ve seen a few versions of this one as it’s a common need! I felt it was a good subject for another design tutorial. I’m sure I’ll be making more items for the laser enclosure as I move forward with it. Thanks for watching and sharing your ideas!

Instead of making multiple copies of the screw hole and corner radius fillet, make, locate & group one hole and one fillet, then "mirror" in one direction (one hole / fillet to two), then "mirror" again in the other direction (2 holes / fillet to four). Saves the copying & dimensioning. Took me a bit to figure the procedure of the "mirror" command initially but works well and saves some time. Whatever works best for you though is the workflow to use.

Awesome. I figured there would be that function as I use a similar method in Cad. As I said in the video I’m no expert but share to help inspire and encourage others to play. Thanks for dropping that tip here!

@@Vintauri Since Tinkercad is by AutoDesk (AutoCad), I wish they would add "offsets", "construction lines" & "layers". Some of those first 2 can be done with the "ruler" but personally I still haven't gotten comfortable with using it.

Thanks for another video. Really sitting on the fence as to purchase or not. Just haven't decided if really want to learn another software and CAD program. Haven't totally mastered Lightburn but got it down pretty good. Really enjoy using the laser and making stuff with it. I'll use your link if decide to step up to 3d printing. Keep them coming. I continue to learn.

I can understand the hesitation as it is a whole new thing to learn. There are many shared files out there that you can download and get started with. Often times when I think of a part I need, I do a search and there is one already there that either works or just takes some minor tweaking. But you still need to have the space for the machine and the time to learn another software to get started. Thanks for watching, I appreciate the support!

Hi Steve, I'm considering the buying the Bambu A1. Its currently on sale for $299 with the AMS lite. Don't know too much about 3d printing. What else should I purchase along with it that I will need? Not sure what to add, so many options, too foreign to know what to buy. Thoughts?
@Vintauri2 күн бұрын
It’s good to have some spare hotends on hand and maybe a spare build plate. Other than that grab some filament to play with some PLA for sure and maybe some PETG. The A1 is a great printer to get started with and have some success.

your exhaust is too small for the volume. add 3 more 125cfm fans for 600cfm total, will need 2 4" or a 6" exhaust duct and flex pipe. also add 5th fan to push air across x=0,y=0 this will keep laser much cleaner. J
