There have always anti-Hindu/India narratives. A week ago I addressed this in my local paper in a very conservative Christian part of the U.S. I'm not even Indian by birth. I'm Indian-origin from Guyana and proud of my Vedic Heritage. It's seems Indians here are more concerned with their self-interest than defending their heritage. They get dressed up in their jewelry and finery to party and celebrate festivals. They have the nerve to look down on people like me who are not born in India. Not to worry, I got this. I'm watching and will continue to defend and explain my Dharma.

That is why J Sai Deepak said it perfectly that whenever someone asks "who are you" you should say "I am a hindu and Indian later" rather then hinding your religious identity by saying "I am an Indian" because Sanatan Dharma is universal and not limited to Indian subcontinent. Rajivji as an Indian American of more than 50 years residence here as a US citizen, I feel incenced to learn from you, that the anti Indian bias in places like Harvard is and has been promoted by Indian educated elites. Shame. Shame on India. Rajivji you are in the lead with your books and talks to shatter this slavish mentality. Kudos to you. God bless you. As an aside I will say I tell my white American friends that as a doctor I have saved innumerable American lives due to my best medical training in India, from the time I was a trainee in the 60s. Modi government should start cultural audit of corporates to do due diligence of the fund donated to NGOs and institute s working on Indian social sciences. Audit should also be done on types of advertisement they are showing to their audiences. Hindu culture and ethos charter needs to be formed, to which corporates needs to follow for cultural audit, based on which penalties can be decided.

Rajeev ji, wonderfully said...fishes or non-humans are 'people' as the Indians have believed since ages. My point here is a reference to Gary S. Snyder (1930- alive) of California. A celebrated poet with the Pulitzer Prize 1975 for his poetry book Turtle Island. The point is he celebrated this idea for non-human beings as 'people' received from Native American beliefs. His philosophy is to actively revive human respect for this planet as a living system, not as an economic domain for the humans alone. He studied Zen Buddhism in Japan and visited India to get inspirational linkages. He has been sidelined as a victim of Cancel Culture bkz of a counter narrative to American mainstream ideology. He is alive in his 90s.

Successive Govts. in India post-1947 have followed the Western Education system that was introduced by Macaulay during pre-1947 to make Indians as "Brown Saheb" which they succeeded 100%. Following the departure of the Whiteman from India, these "Brown Saheb" ran the successive administration, and that's how we ended being what we are today. I too, was ignorant of my own ethos unless some whitemen praise it, I think nothing of it. We are still colonized in our minds. Why? Why Christians and Muslims are different? This will be earnestly pursued by BJP Govt of 2029. Mr. Modi is now concentrating on uniting the Hindus and getting Aatma Nirbharta going. He is also highlighting the soft power of Indians born out of their innate intelligence and deeply spiritual culture. This will give the Indian people the pride of performance. Caste-based reservation will go. The Supreme Court cannot have ny objection to this, as the Judiciary is itself devoid of Reservation. The economically weaker sections will be supported to level the playing field. With continuous (and performing ) BJP Govts, the smaller ( and purposeless ) parties will fall by the wayside. Communist will wither away. All this is quite possible. We therefore HAVE TO ENSURE THAT MODI IS RE-ELECTED IN 2024 ( which will also be his last). His job has been the most difficult in initiating the change and getting it going. Successive PMs will find their job easy and will be able to easily speed up. Many of this generation have been brought up without imbibing in them the deep values of Indian Civilization & culture. The parents felt that these children should grow up WITHOUT the burden of the painful past in their heads. Freedom has for them meant the right to do everything on the individual level, but do NOTHING on the social level. This naturally led to a situation where the political leaders capitalised on our apathy and made poverty a virtue in itself; while they themselves grew obscenely rich. We thus became willing slaves of our new masters. Only this time, we got to 'choose' new masters every five years. Now, globalization and the advent of technology has given the new generation the opportunity to shake off the indifferent attitude and see clearly where their country stands, and what they should do about it. Modi's BJP is catalysing this process by making the average Indian proud of his heritage. The results are visible. The number of Indians bringing laurels to the country in many fields is on the increase. Gold medals and Oscars are signs of this. This 'can-do' attitude will increase in the coming years if we can continue the majority BJP Govt in the Centre. Their speed in changing the landscape is very evident. I feel that those that follow Modi will continue to maintain the momentum. The BJP has the great advantage of NOT BEING a family party. There are several leaders capable of filling Modi's shoes and also walking in his direction. And yes, I am an optmist.😄
