I love this! Working on my first ring bound journal. I decided to make the holes super strong and used eyelets. I think they look awesome! This might be my favorite journal yet. Using your kit with the cottages and roses. So super pretty. My sister thinks I be making it for her. Lol

This is lovely! The various textures are great. I’m struggling a bit with decorating my cardboard ring bound journal. Having come to the conclusion it’s because I have no clear idea of what I really want it to be in the end, I set it aside for today. Sometimes I think too much! I am enjoying collaging the backgrounds, though... always enjoy having gluey fingers and nails. 😄 It may go into the trash in the end, but enjoying the process nevertheless. 👍 Thanks for sharing with us!

I know what you mean Deb, I find myself overthinking things all the time. Maybe just pick one item (like an image from a book, or a flower etc) and use that as your starting point and see if your layout flows from there? Always a good idea to walk away though if it's not coming together straight away x

Watching my grandmother sit and crochet for hours, my heart screamed noooo.... But it looks pretty and I am glad you used the whole thing. That was a little bit easier to watch. When you glued the brown card to the burlap did it stick to the back? I was wondering if it did. I Love the book and all of the Beautiful things that you have done. Stingy and frugal are two different words LOL Do you have a store like we do called the Dollar Tree where most of the items are dollar? If so they sell a 2 pack of spatulas, one is small, and I use it for hot glue smashing down. Much Love 💞

Yes, it was hard to use that gorgeous crochet, but I am really trying not to just hoard things!!! Lol. No the brown card didn't stick onto the burlap (thankfully). We do have a Poundland here (same thing as Dollar Tree), I will have to have a look x

My thoughts on whether the insides of the covers match is that you aren't going g to be seeing them at the same time, so it doesn't really matter. The whole thing is very pretty. Love, love, lovefor the second pocket. The turquoise burlap and the two laces that you've chosen for it are stunning !!! You're funny I've never heard anyone admit to irritating themselves like you just did. Bahahaha !! You've made the inside of the covers so stunning, how are you going g to top these for the outsides ??? I lovethe button cluster !! Maybe it could go on the fro t outside cover to tie them together !! Tina. Where are your silicone glue helpers ??? I got a kit that has a spatula, a round pointer and finger protectors. I've had them for years. I may have gotten them from Amazon

Journal is coming along nicely, but I was worried when you glued the brown card to the turquoise burlap since you didn’t put anything in between the pocket is it now glued to your base fabric? Hope you didn’t lose your pocket. Can’t wait to see the finished ring bound journal. Hugs Theresa

Hi Tina, hope you and your family are well!! I have never make a ring-bound journal because I don't like the look BUT it's true, that it gives such a big liberty to create along the way...maybe I would give it a try and use sari silk for binding!?!? My dear, do you know that there are hot glue guns with lower temperatures for fabrics and lace/children? My gun is amazing for gluing little things and has 2 lower temperatures! I never burnt myself anymore 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Big hugs from Germany 👋

Great idea to try other ways of binding as a ring bound style journal. Sigitas Coffee Stains has some great ways that she binds. I didn't know about those hot glue guns, I will have a to have a look, thank you for mentioning x

I have a 4cm scar on my leg from hot glue. It pushed out when I added a new stick. You can never be too careful.

When u cut the crochet doilies do they unravel? I do crochet and haven't cut any of my pieces as I'm worried they will fall apart on my journals. It would be great if they don't as I have quiet abit I could do with them.
