Oh...my...goodness!!! Hidden seams? The possibilities are endless! Picked-up blanket bindings, shawl edgings, button bands, etc. I wonder if it would make a sock gusset too thick??? It would certainly be a smoother ridge on the inside, if not. Who in the world came up with using that second cable needle on the wrong side trick? Bless them - and you, dear lady, for sharing!
@SuzanneBryan

Hi Liz! If the socks are to be worn as house slippers they would not be too thick, but if worn with shoes they probably would be too thick. 😊

(I think I read u live on Signal Mtn.?) When my health improves would luv to meet u. I noticed u use a LYS in Dalton. Have u tried the new LYS located at Northgate? This AV on double side PU is so sensible and makes the end product look more pro. Again, u r the BEST still. Thanks

Wow, that is amazing! I am new to knitting and have never needed this technique before, but I have been peripherally aware that there are lots of important skills to learn and this one was at the top. I still have a question about matching the gauge of the ribbing to the gauge of the main fabric. Your ribbing appears far more relaxed than mine. If you have not done so before could you explain how to determine gauge in this instance? My other question is about tension. I have not tried to do a sample yet, but I am thinking I would have trouble getting the tension right to pick up and knit from both sides. (My left hand hurts just thinking about it.) Thanks again! Great video!
@SuzanneBryan
@SuzanneBryan 5 жыл бұрын
I have a video on how to calculate the ratio for picking up - you can find it here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5e4XmmHfbOfetk. The tension is just a matter of practicing. Happy knitting.
