Yikes! Now that is a gorgeous sketch! I used to love sketching landscapes but when I had switched over to oils, I lost the connection with doing finished pencil work. It's a beautiful medium and you have inspired me to start back to that. I'm beginning mine right NOW!! Thanks Andrew - you are an amazing teacher. My art teacher back in school swore that I only used a mechanical pencil to rebel against the classic shaded number pencil sets. While those are very useful for establishing shade, I just felt I could achieve very defined marks while also achieving the same level of shade with a mechanical pencil. Even after explaining my opinion, I was still considered a rebel. I'll send her this video link. I am certainly glad to see such a well established artist use them to this level of quality. Such an amazing drawing.

Andrew, your art is amazing! I have enjoyed watching you for some time now. I gave my daughter all of my acrylic paints (which she loves) to begin building a cache of oil paints. I love sketching, and am a beginner in painting. Thank you for your inspirational demeanor in all your videos. I love this,great drawing. I am used to paint in oils ,but since my mother got I'll,I had to move in with her,so no oils . I changed to my old love watercolor and then I suddenly found myself drawing portraits,landscapes,... I love contè carrè espc.sanguine ... I had the luck to study Rembrandts drawings and I am in love with his simplicity and his master touch... So now I am fully sketching and drawing most of the day.

"I think I'll paint it now." Haha classic Tisch. Did you ever think you should make a book of this process? Anyway, this video goes to show you're just as good as Hans Heysen! I have such admiration for your discipline and patience to constantly keep attacking the same drawing over and over. I've watched your other videos on this approach and tried it myself. It's no easy task! It teaches a lot more than discipline. It forces you to train your mind to become more creative and think outside the box rather than just drawing/painting what you see. I also found it helps me to approach the final attempt with a lot more confidence and makes my line work is less timid. Thank you for that. Keep'em coming Tischler.
