As a belated note the 'notch' you're seeing in the original design is just the un-aliased pixel pattern in the relatively low resolution graphics! Still an interesting take on something that wasn't there, though, I love that.

Hahaha, when I saw you picked that design, I knew it was a recipe for disaster! It's a very non-robust mechanism, with a lot of play essentially, that can mess things up. I'm happy you managed to get it to work well enough though! It's fortunate that you didn't need the chain to exert a lot of force.
@Engineezy
@Engineezy Жыл бұрын
Yeah I had the same feeling, but decided on it anyways. Probably should’ve gone with the double chain haha

Wouldnt it be qay simpler to take 3 gears of the same size in a line and putting the logo on the outer two gears and then rotate the whole thing. Wouldnt that keep the letters straight? Or do I miss somethibg

Was your brother aware that the font/letter design ia very similar to the one used in the 1968 olympics? I would think everyone from Mexico recognize that style In the first five seconds when you showed the 99 and your brother’s presentation, the first page with the soccer, I thought you (or him) were gonna to talk about that, and honestly that’s the only relation I found with sports Also a lot of marketing from that year used that, so if your brother would have seen that it could’ve been really cool and maybe serve as inspiration
@EdLrandom

bearing won't do much in that design, no? cause it looks like they are touching on both sides and won't rotate really
@Engineezy

I was hoping it would help around the curves, or at least slide better than the plastic on plastic. Didn’t really make a difference in this case

Just figurin out, have you never ever heard abaut lubrication? Same as english: Use some oil, or grease etc, and it will work 99% accuracy! Ps. Sorry for my english language, I am not an American, or English. I am from Finland. And thats a far far a way from countrys, that speaks english. But yeah, you have a pretty fucking nice inventions and videos!! I really like your videos. Just so excellent engineering! I personaly do not like plastic, so I do everything from different kind of metals usually. But still, I do appreciate your work very high! Good job man!! Take the next level and start doing things on full metals! I guarantee you will get way more views, if that really makes any differens.. 3D printers and plastics are kind of toys from my perspective.. So, I see your works like a toys, but for adults.. at least kind of.. I suggest you to do some upgrade and make all those things from metals, and you would be one of the most popular engineers at the youtube! Trust me, I am an machinist! And Pps, I really like your videos. Do, what you do the best and do it as you really want to do. But do it with full throttle!! Thanks bro!!

The bearings weren’t a great idea. You have it in a track so when the bearings are moving they have a force on each side of the bearing in the same direction assuming a tight fit, hence the bearings won’t spin, just slide. Edit: you should have put some grease in the track and then tried it again.
