These videos are very detailed and actually are very informative on how to make bipedal art dolls. I have a big issue with that. I always am trying to make dinosaurs and most of them stand on two legs, mine fall over all the time .

The airbrushing on the feathers is so pretty! How much do these sorts of projects usually cost?
@artofvaelys7984 жыл бұрын
Thank you ! 💚 They are quite inexpensive to make to be honest. The material which cost the most are the clay and the faux fur and I didn't use a lot on this doll. The felt and the galvanized steel wire are quite inexpensive to buy. A bird like that is a great project to make if you don't have a lot of money, it cost less than 20$ of material. It just takes a lot of time to make, especially if you don't make a lot of artdolls.

What paint can you use for air brushing? Can it be acrylic or fabric? Id like to get a machine
@artofvaelys7983 жыл бұрын
Acrylic paints are usually used for airbrushing. You can buy the prepared ones (like Golden High Flow Acrylics or Createx), it saves you time as you don't have to thin them down. I prefer using acrylic paint that I thin down to the right consistency. If I paint a sculpture, I will thin down the paint with Golden high flow medium but if I paint a fabric (included minky and faux fur), I will thin down the paint with water. I never tried using fabric paint with an airbrush, it may leave a plastic texture en top of the fabric.

How posable are the feet with the xosclay?
@artofvaelys7984 жыл бұрын
They are not really poseable but it's because I didn't put a wire strong enough in the toes. So when I bend them, they tend to go back to their original position. Otherwise, I think they would have been poseable enough to wrap the toes around a branch.

@@artofvaelys798 ive actually just put a bake and bend in the oven with the intention of making it posable. I really enjoyed your video and voice btw

@@Erik1495 Thank you 💚 I never tried Bake and bend, I hope it is as poseable as Cosclay.
