I haven't seen this feature since about 1996! Proper throwback! Thanks for uploading it.

Fascinating, quick moving and very insightful despite its age 👍

Oh I've had that intro music in my head since I borrowed this cassette from the library 20 odd years ago... Curious as to what sundeala is though, I don't think it exists here and a replacement would be handy

I googled it, it seems it still exists. Its a paper based board, i think in this case for a simple beginner layout it works well but I'd personally put a plywood base down with sundeala on top to build up on

You don’t want to build a board with Sundeala as it doesn’t like water and de-laminates easily…it’s like compressed strawboard in a way. It used to be used before plyboard was more easily available. The board edgings shown in the video seemed to be a much harder product which I don’t think are sundeala.

3:07 That's what I've been saying to the missus, but she doesn't seem to agree.

I wonder if the people that made this video ever imagined that those locomotives one day could be completely controlled by computers, or that LEDs would dominate lighting, or there would be devices that print out solid pieces of plastic, or that Hornby would be horribly overpriced...
