I find crossbreeding and selective breeding of plants so fascinating! I hope to do this with tulips and irises one day!

Very awesome video with no fluff! I'm about to start off on my own breeding journey so this has been great to see your lineages.

That is really 😎, I have wanted to cross peppers. Not sure which ones I want to cross yet. I also want to do this with some tomatoes as well.

Have fun! It is really great to play around with all those different shapes, textures, colors, tastes, smells, and (in case of the chili peppers) "temperatures"!

@@PeppersnGlowworms I am a bit of a sissy when it comes to 🔥 hot peppers just to eat, but I love having them to put into foods, and make pepper jellies from them and salsa I love salsa... I want to breed a SWEET 🔥 pepper that is also pretty and cold hardy. And breed a cold hardy tomatoe, that is some what sweet. I have a pretty cold hardy tomatoe I am growing now, it got frosted on, the frost killed my squash plants but the tomatoe lived until the temp reached down into the 20's. The plant was from seeds I saved from tomatoes a friend gave us last yr. Not sure of its kind, friend does not remember either. Lol I am new to growing in general, but I enjoy it very much.

Good luck with that cold hardy tomato! Sounds interesting... The chili pepper species Capsicum pubescens is supposedly a bit more cold hardy by nature. I have not tried any of those yet.

@@PeppersnGlowworms I have some peppers in my gaurge that are still blooming. It has NO heat & the door is stuck wide open, NO grow lights. Just this week, Thursday night the temp was down in the low 20's, peppers still doing okay, but tomatoes did NOT like the cold as well as the peppers, but tomatoes are NOT dead yet. Lol at rhis time I am trying to figure out how to bring them inot the house without ruining the pretend wood floors or build a wall or door for the gaurge to keep the plants over the winter.

Pepper plants, that I intend to overwinter, are usally cut down quite brutally by me. Sometimes I even cut the roots and put the plant into a smaller container. This also saves space. I leave the other plants outside. Who knows, perhaps I bred a frost tolerant chili pepper by accident...

This is such a great video and you should do more!! Can I ask where you get the genetic information and how you keep track of specific genes? I was looking around the internet and couldn't find much... thank you!!
