This is a wonderful video, Carol...thank you so much for your exceptionally quick response to my request for a demonstration of this technique. I am so impressed with how you created the "hole" in the background to fit so nicely around the design. You made everything look so easy, and I'm all set to embroider a sample first thing in the morning. You're the best - thank you for providing this so quickly!

What version of the software was this? I can’t find an “Outline Design” icon in V8. I would be doing a happy dance if I could find that button!

This was way back in V6. In V8 the tool is called Outlines and Offsets and is found in the Edit Toolbox. The icon looks like a little tulip. The tool has lots more features now, and I have included videos on this tool in the New Features in V8 course on my website. www.machineembroideryanddigitizing.com This topic will also be covered in the Beginners V8.1 Course 2

If I do this with Embird, it stitches the outlines all around the stippling. Any ideas how to get rid of that?

Sorry, I haven't had any experience with Embird. Is there a users forum or group somewhere you could ask?
