Me watching this 👀- this is just wonderful Mark, a great idea and you certainly will be helping so many creatures with this wonderful design, so natural looking and so much thought has gone into this. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday evening, watching you create so much vital habitat - well done, so impressed with this 😊 Best wishes - Joel

That’s very generous of you Joel; I can only imagine how busy you are. Yes I’ve created a nice little log pile, beetle home and a great place for me to perch and ponder life while I watch the skaters, birds and bees visiting the Purple Loosestrife. Cheers

Cheers dude for some good and simple ideas for wildlife areas of the garden. Helped get a few ideas along well in our front garden now and make it more interesting than a grass lawn cut to within an inch of its life and boring non-native bushes

This is just wonderful and absolutely aspirational! I too plant for wildlife. If I can make a small suggestion: the edges of the holes you drilled in the logs need to be sanded as bees have delicate wings which can easily be damaged by sharp edges.

Different size drill bits (different size holes) are good for different types of bees and other insects

Dig a hole and get in a hibernaculum for frogs/newts/toads if you can (look it up on KZbin as it’s a great easy habitat to build and adds more interest and adds more differing habitats for different wildlife etc).
