How is the mixer? im interested in getting one.
@boriscat19993 ай бұрын
@@mikethebest991It's a useful mixer with some limitations. It's stereo and passive so it doesn't color the sound at all. It just makes everything quiet so you have to have the volume up near max to get a good range out of it. And you can't drive headphones with it very well. But since it's small and doesn't require power it is perfect for just packing in a bag and taking it with you. Plug it into a pedal like here and the mixer can drive that fine. I plug it into my computer to record "live" or into a Zoom handheld recorder. My workflow is to record a bunch of noodling, then chop it up in something in a DAW or even just Audacity. It's great, I plug my Stylophone GEN X-1, Volcas, TD-3, TT-78, and Microfreak into it as well. I used to use the Little Bear MC5 with my modular synth / eurorack as well. And that mixer works there too, even though synth output is MUCH higher than line level. But I recently moved to using ST Modular Workmate Pix. Another passive mixer but with DJ style EQ for each channel. (Pix is hard to find prebuilt, but Pusherman sells DIY kits if you don't mind a relatively easy soldering project)

I'm feeling quite inspired by this, I have just taken delivery of these two synths, because I have wanted to play with them for years, so I'm now trawling Amazon for a cheap chorus and delay pedal with some patch cables, I might have a trawl through FB market place too. I had the idea of doing my own music for some of the dashcam footage I have of me charging about Wales in by crappy fiat.

Very cool! Love the hair clip idea. Do you think the NTS-1 would work in place of the Delay (or even both Monotrons, if set up correctly)? This is something must explore! Thank you.
@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic6 ай бұрын
yes of course you could use the NTS-1 instead of the Delay in this setup, but the result would quite different since the 2 machines have a very different sound and attitude. It would be interesting to explore though.

I assume that the output cables running out of the MultiStomp are going into a computer or studio speaker(s). Would this also work with the output cables fed into a guitar amp? thanks
@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic24 күн бұрын
Yes It would, but the pedal output can work in stereo and I assume the guitar amp has just a mono input, so you have to give up stereo, but it would work.

Hardware electronic music requires a huge amount of gear to do. This set up is super minimal All it is is 2 sources of audio, an effects processor, and a way to get the audio from the sources to the effects. That is honestly about as minimal as you are going to get when doing electronic music.
@ivanrossi20514 ай бұрын
Nice, but using an extra effect box is cheating a little 😊

Guilty! 😝 Anyway it's possible to make interesting stuff even with just the monotrons alone. But it comes out more as noise/experimental, or maybe just more raw.
