Really enjoy your drone tutorials, thank you. I have purchased the hardware (Monotron Delay & Duo, mixer & a multi effects pedal) and all is connected as suggested. I am a total beginner to electronic music. Prior to powering up, please advise me on the ‘starting position’, ie where the knobs are positioned on each of the Monotrons. Eg in the ‘off’ position to the left, half way ‘on’ with the little arrow pointing up, or a combination of these positions)?
@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic2 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for the feedback! It's not really important how you set the monotrons at the beginning. A simple advice is to set everything in the middle (except for the delay feedback know that should be to zero) and start tweaking form there. Cheers!

I've hear two negative things about the s1 arpeggiator: 1. It stops when you're just holding down one note; 2. The cycle re-triggers with each key press, even when clocked, so your timing has to be perfect Are these things true?

Hi, and great video as usual! I'm interested in a low budget little synth to do lofi ambient, drone and post rock music...those are my gems in the list: volca keys, behringer jt4000 MIDI, korg monotron duo, roland compact S1, Modal craftsynth 2.0, SN by Decadebridge and sonicware liven ambient 0. Consider that my setup is dawless and it's made by a Yamaha rs7000 and a zoom cdr 70 effect! What will you suggest more? Thanks in Advance! 🙏🙏👍
@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic17 күн бұрын
Well, I don't know all of them, and they are all quite different beats. I would consider the monotron more like an effect. For lo-fi ambient, I would go for the volca keys if you prefer an analog sound or the Roland s-1 for more versatility. But I don't have the modal, the sn an the liven so i cant evaluate them.

You preplayed the drone? How do you layer the melody while keeping the drone going?. Amazing blade runnerish sound
@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic17 күн бұрын
The drone is sequenced by the daw (just an endlessly sustained note). Since it's four voices, you can play freely over it as long as you don't use more that 4 notes at once.

I think the new Sonicware will be the winner as to Ultimate Ambient desktop boutique. LIVEN Ambient Ø at 239 is amazing. Still not in stock though. Pre-orders for next batch. :( I'm pre-ordering next week. S-1 is good though. But, I think the experience will be much better with Ambient Ø
@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic16 күн бұрын
The main difference is that the s-1 is a synth suitable for many purposes, while the liven is focused on ambient. I think they aim to different goals. The s-1 happens ato be great for ambient, the liven is made for that. For some unknown reason, I'm not attracted to it.
@Curious_Skeptic16 күн бұрын
@@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic True. Ambient can be something done on most all gear. Still think the Ambient Zero will be worth a go based on great demos. Can't beat the price point.

So you've got 4 midi channels going but there's only one voice right? it's not multitimbral
@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic18 күн бұрын
The four voices share the same parameters. So you can play 4 notes at once but with the same sound. The splitting in different midi tracks (same channel) is for the sake of arrangement or live performing.

Hello, Electro MAgnetic! I'm trying to upgrade firmware on my jt-4000 micro with no success. I've downloaded Synthtribe v2.8.4 from official site and it seems to be the only version available. Turning on my JT box with two-buttons method. They blink as on the video. Synthtribe detects JT-4000 and says that the device is in DFU mode and starts the upgrade procedure. Application button changes to "Up to Date" but no reboot occurs. I've disconnected JT and after powering it on display shows me old v1.1.2 firmware. My system is Windows 11, no antivirus and firewall is turned off. What OS have you used for upgrade and what Synthtribe version? Without this upgrade the synth is more a toy for todlers. And poor users support from Behringer prevents me for buying anything from them. Subscribed to your channel and appreciating your work )) cheers!

I updated it on Mac os Ventura. And it was hard for me too to figure it out. I guess you could try on a different computer if you have the chance. I would not count on Behringer to solve the issue. @@nickshulba5062 risky move form behringer. everybody was complaining about the missing midi input, and they listened.
