Maybe you already figured this out, but you can actually skip the 30° rotation if you only want to go from "flat horizontal sides" to "flat vertical sides" and instead use a property of the TileMap itself called Tile Offset Axis, change it from the default Horizontal Offset to Vertical Offset.
