Creating an Animated Photo Slideshow with NCH VideoPad

What a clear, modest and easy to listen to (and learn from) tutorial. Have recently installed Videopad and it does seem to be a very versatile and comprehensive tool, so I need all the help I can get! So, thank you so much - you have a new subscriber :)

I'e got quite a few NCH products... VideoPad is really good, you can also add subtitles. I had purchased Proshow Gold a few years ago and it was really great, however they have changed it now and its more complicated, and my Proshow Gold tells me I have an illegal copy.. I have emailed them several times, afterall I did buy the software, and they never reply. NCH always reply and are very helpful. Wave Pad is gret for editing sound clips.. great if you want to shorten a clip and fade it out, also great for narrations.

Can we choose somewhere a random zoom effect? I want to do a photo slideshow with the zooming effect you explained but don’t want to have the same way/direction of zooming on each picture...

Hi Raphael. It has been a long time since I created or used this software. There might be better options now, including Lightworks, Davinci Resolve and more.

Hi, do you know if there is anyway in photostage to adjust the slides, take away the black edges so they fill the screen.

Does the contents edited will not have any watermark after rendering? If not then this is an awesome software.

I must admit, I have not used the software for some time... and it is possible that it now adds a watermark. You might try Davinci Resolve. It is much more complicated, but also much more capable. ;)

Thank you for you xlnt help. Great teacher! Once I got the paid version and an up to date PC, this program worked smoothly. I would've saved a lot of time learning this NCH if I had found your video here. You are most excellent in your step by step. Pleasant voice, dont rush like so many others. After making 14 videos for my new abuse recovery You Tube Channel I want more polished FX. I wonder if there are any tricks to getting better than the obvious, you know special FX. The VST plugins I downloaded from a third party don't load into NCH. Also I want to add additional fonts to my arsenal and don't know how. I am shopping for a new program to go to the next level in production for my mixed content videos. I combine customized word slides with photos and video content to make journals and simple shows. I would love to be able to have lighting fx appear from behind the image as I have seen elsewhere. Any suggestions? God Bless You.

Hi there. I honestly have not used NCH in years, but still find it to be a pretty nice program. To get the lighting effect, I think you would have to design the images in Photoshop to add in. Not as easy to do right in NCH. It's pretty much just for the slideshows... not as much for the effects. Maybe the software is updated though?

I see you uploaded this video in 2011. What version were you using? I just downloaded 3.14, and there is no zoom effect. There is a motion effect that is more powerful but also slightly more difficult to use.

Hi Jonathan, I just downloaded the Video Pad Video Editor after watching your video and I found that there is not a "Zoom" effect on mine. Do you have any suggestions? Kathy

Unfortunately I was a LONG time ago that I created these tuts. I am not sure about the new version of the software. Sorry I can't help. ;(

Use the "motion" video effect :) will do exactly the same and is much more versatile. You will have to use the big green crosses to set key frames at the beginning and end of your clip then just adjust the scale at the end of the clip!

Are you kidding, you think this is good? If it cannot automate transition then it is garbage. Imaging how long it would take to manual transition 400 slides.

This is from 11 years ago. I am sure the newer versions have improved workflows. ;)

@@jonathansross I have the newest version. They removed that function because now they sell a separate app to create slide shows,. I analyzed the VPJ file and understand most of what is there. I am working on a script that should do the job in minutes
