I LOVE this! When we built our house a craft space was so important to my teens that my 3 girls chose to share a room to free up space for a designated craft/sewing/3d printing area.

I'm surprised you got some flack for a craft room! I think that's such an amazing outlet to provide your kids and yourself with a space to be creative and not worry about the mess!

Seriously! Who gets upset over a craft room? And they aren’t paying your bills so they need to mind their business! That’s ridiculous😂😂😂

The flack as I recall, was that they told Jude he’d have his own room and then decided to make his room the craft space…
@heatherjohnson561217 күн бұрын
@@vickbakThe whole family including Jude does crafts. I have 100000% faith in the fact that Megan and Mike know what’s best for their children. maybe there are some behind-the-scenes stuff that made them go in that direction. We see a snapshot of their lives definitely not enough to be slinging our opinions like that their choices. Love the room, Knorpp family!!! I know so many memories will be made there!

@@heatherjohnson5612 I am not judging. I’m saying no one gave them flack about making a craft room. I also fully understand that we see a small curated part of their life.

The closet is a unsung gift. I would shelve floor to ceiling with free standing so they move with you. My new mantra is only clear plastic totes and storage containers, cuts down the open and search game. I find putting a looking for and item on a free site successful, somebody may have a sewing table collecting dust they keep meaning to post but never do.

Honestly I love that table for a sewing table/guest room conversion piece. With the sides folded down and a twin bed on each side, that table will function as a shared bedside table. Maybe two smaller folding tables would be good the rest of the time instead to the one big one because then you can put them side by side under the window or have one in the centre of the room. All youd have to do is put the sewing machine in the closet and pack away the folding tables before putting up the twin beds and BAM guest room.

Ok, so another homeschooling/unschooling question since we see Pearl sewing in the background. Which, I have loved watching her blossom over the last several months. 🥰 Anyway, did your kiddos ever do any type of bookwork, worksheets, ect. Watching Pearl sew, I instantly thought of all the PRACTICAL math involved! We don't homeschool (yet) and your family basically introduced us to "unschooling". But also, your family just seems so genuinely kind and happy, and I really want that for our family (instead, my poor kiddos get angry mom way too often😢) ANYWAY!! I think I mentioned it before, but I would love an updated homeschool/unschool video. 💙💙 ~Ashley

Idea……..the top drawers on your old island can be opened to use as a pull out table top. So your knees fit comfortably sitting there. In the top drawers I’d just put all the same height storage bins. You’ll be able to use the drawer still then. Maybe put a craft mat on top of the bins as a smooth surface. Room looks really nice!!!

Blank wall = design wall!! Place for pearl to hang her things, section for art work on corkboard, also…aesthetically the room is great, but utilitarian is better for storing your supplies. (See through boxes will make things easier for whomever is looking for something. Less mess while you’re digging, easy to find where things need to be replaced to. ❤ LONG time crafter, quilter, painter, seamstress. PS: I’m saving for an ikea electric table. Any of the kids can adjust to their height while they work, Pearl can use it for cutting out while not having to reach or stretch….but then lower it for other things. Just some serious considerations!

Megan, you are more capable than you are giving yourself credit for. Mike is trying to do something that will be of great benefit to your family. You'll be able to travel even more. I have family members who gave up on dreams because it just became too hard to avoid the constant distractions. If you really want to support him in this process to become a pilot, his study time needs to take priority. I'm not trying to be negative, but I'm pretty sure you're capable of figuring out how to get a 10 ft board in your house.
