Creating an Interactive AR scene in Adobe Aero

In a previous video, I showed you how to use Adobe Aero to turn a Photoshop file into a three-dimensional Augmented Reality project. This time we are going to dive much deeper and see how to combine Illustrator files and Adobe Stock 3D models in Aero to create an exciting interactive AR scene.

Cool video. Aero has a tendency to compress images which are larger than 2000 X 2000 px. So they don't look as good. Therefore it's recommended any asset that you create keep it under that size. Also I have found when you export it to a .usdz format the quality of the real-time rendering is sharper and better

Hi Martin. Just curious, let's say I have animated a character, how would I go about exporting 2d animation to aero. Should I create the 2d animation sequence, take it to photoshop and export it from there or is there a better way.

Does Aero require creative cloud for save, or u can save directly on your device too? Does Dimension save only into CC or is it possible to save offline on ur PC?

Thanks for the video! I have a little problem, when I export my file in psd And put the resolution at 150, I can't open my file in aero ... and when I put it at 72 the quality is so bad... how can I fix that ?

This is really cool, I have been thinking about trying to learn Aero. I have a few questions I hope you can answer. 1. When you share a project does it export the AR and then they place it onto any surface they have around them? 2. Do you know if you can save surfaces and build on them remotely? Like can I save the surface of the desk, and then take it home and build on it and then share it with a friend later to see what it would look like on that desk? Or does it have to use whatever surface is in-front of them (since it's AR this makes sense) 2. Do you know how big the surfaces can be? Can I do an entire room or multiple rooms with this, having different 3D models appear as look around the room?

@@BladezzWoW Yes to all questions! 1- Yes we can place any AR project on any surface around us. 2- Yes you can do that. 3- There is no size limit for a surface, it can be of any size.

Mark Elliot I use Reflector to mirror the iPhone on the desktop. You can choose different skins for the frame and you can also hide the frame if you want.

You probably know this by now, but in Home you have to select Cloud documents under Your Work, then press the three dots to edit the name or duplicate/delete.

Hi, I have a question, I tried this my own and made an Illustrator file, layered them just like he did, then exported them to a Photoshop file the way he shows in the video but when I upload it on the Aero app my file is just a flat image! Thank you for the useful video! So for the background, you saved it as a PSD file since it contains around 5 different layers, in order to be able to adjust the depth / offset in Aero. So, does it mean that we can only adjust the depth if we have multiple layers? Not only one layer?

Yes. Otherwise they all are all stuck together as one giant 2D image.

You can export a .reality file or .usdz which could be embedded on a webpage or in ab iOS app

I always get this message "Failed to load experience. The experience is not ready yet." whenever I try to scan the QR code I generated whether I made my AR on mobile with the Aero app or on my computer with Aero beta. But I could experience other people's AR just by scanning their QR code. I don't know why that keeps on happening. I just want to be able to experience my AR through my QR code but it won't let me.

Export as OBJ, FBX or GLTF and import into Dimension, then save in Creative Cloud.

This was fantastic - in looking at the Adobe Max online conference coming this Oct22-24th I wanted to see what Aero could do- you broke it down so wonderfully (as an instructional designer - hats off to you!) Is it possible to insert video files into a scene as well? If that's a yes can those scene be chromakeyed? Example - if something is shot and edited in After effects and rendered with a green screen backdrop? Orrr would would you have to "trick" the user and film the desired area first and then composite the scene and export the video file theeeen drop it into Aero? OR could you stich 360 video and place that into the Aero scene? How would you, for example, set up a "fun facts" AG video triggered by a historical landmark- have a host historian type character pop up and speak about said location? Would this be easier as an animated 3D figure? Thanks!

I had very big plans for Aero. So much so, I paid $1,700 for a brand new LIDAR equipped iPad pro and rigging gear. Assests drift and jitter no matter what I do. It's not good indoors and terrible outdoors. I'm massively disappointed. It's not bad if you plan to stay in one spot, or just use it as a toy. It is not acceptable for 2/3 of what I wanted it for.

No. it doesn't work. The pics are each on a layer and exported as you did and imported into Aero and in comes as one layer and using the move on Z just moves everything as one...
