Do you have to wait for the oil paint to dry before pouring the next layer of resin? Or does it not matter since it's so thin?

Hi! I have a wooden puzzle that I would love to put in epoxy so that it can stand up almost like a book. The front is great to look at, but it would be cool to be able to show off the back as well, which is why I want to avoid a normal picture frame.
