How do you create an alternative citation (the ones that are used mid sentence)?? for example: in the study of Burke (2017), it is shown that dogs are blue. I do not see an option anywhere in mendeley to do this, and I also cannot find anything on it by googling it..... I can add them manually, but then the article wont show on my literary page...? (unless I add it manually there too)

Mendeley has to be running in the background as you type. Then. at the point where the in-text citation is need - you select the option "Insert Citation" this is the Mendeley icon with the blue +sign. Find the reference you want to cite in the pop-up box, and click ok.

Mendeley includes APA 6th Edition and NO APA upate is currently listed. View --> Citation Style ---> APA 6th Edition (Only option)

Mendeley updates and synchronizes itself anytime you're about using it and you have internet connection. I've got APA 7th Edition btw
