Such an excellent video. I don’t think I’ll ever need to use any of this but it gave me such a cool insight about how a live show works behind the scenes. Even the concept of “talkback” is something I had never thought about and that it now seems totally obvious after seeing you explaining it all. So many thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Thank you so much! This video is incredible, it answered all of the questions I had on how to set up MainStage to do what I wanted. Really appreciate the quality content!

This is so helpful, AB! Subbed and psyched to see the next video about the digital mixer setup you mentioned!

Hi Andy, I'm an Aussie guitarest with some audio engineering experience, and I use Logic. When I started looking for MainStage demos I found a ton of not very useful videos. Then I stumbled onto your tutorial. I'm not really looking to make backing tracks, but even so - the amount of useful and well-presented information you shared on MainStage and Logic was greatly appreciated. I'll certainly check out your other videos and I hope you keep making them!

Interesting workflow. I'm not sure how much of this will translate to GarageBand, but I'm going to give it a try. Good vid.

Thanks! I'm not sure if GarageBand can do the tempo detection but otherwise it would work as a way to get click/backing/talkback tracks into MainStage. Without getting the tracks mapped to a beat/bar you would lose the ability in MainStage to change the tempo later, but that's not critical.

Brilliant video [edit] strike that....excellent video🤣. I'm a solo artist who just wants to use his VST's live for performances. I've used it and given up, but have a nagging voice telling me i'm missing out. I use high quality midifiles from Midispot AP and a Yamaha Genos when performing to crowds (stop laughing it's great for small venues🤣 with limited budgets for entertainment), but would love to capitalise on all the money I've spent on VST's and my Macbook pro. I have Mainstage too, but find the vst's sounding thin and lacking body when played through my pa (Yamaha stagepas 1K x 2). I like the pianoteq version 8 as a piano or Ravenscroft 275 UVI sample library rather than the yamaha hardware piano to accompany my backing tracks. But we'll see.😁 I'm still experimenting.

Thank you! I've just discovered pianoteq myself and think it is brilliant (and much less resource intensive than the EastWest piano sample library I currently use). There are some good sounding virtual instruments in Logic/MainStage, but not pianos!

Hi Andy! How did you create the click from scratch with the percussion kit?
@andybrown966311 ай бұрын
Hi! I just made a 1 bar midi region utilizing the quarter notes from the samples I wanted to use from the percussion kit. Making beat 1 a different tone than the other beats. I think I used a wood block and a clave, but you could use anything that suits your fancy. Then I could stretch that to any length needed for the song by expanding that region as a loop.

Karaoke Version must be Dutch. They made German songs and sang it with strong Dutch accent.
