Creating Bulky Yarn from One Light Weight Skein

Did you know ONE skein of yarn can be turned into a BULKY yarn?! Yep, I just said it and it's true, bulky yarn from 1 skein. And if a pattern calls for three strands held together, you do not need three balls of yarn. Simply use one ball of yarn and work with three strands. Does it sound impossible? Take a look at the video below to learn how to triple yarn.

As a beginner to knitting and crochet, this is awesome….I bought yarn that I loved the color of but when I tried to crochet/knit with it, it was so difficult… definitely going to give this a try!

This is absolutely genius. I am crocheting a thicker edge on a purchased, buttonless long cardigan and this demonstration showing how to be make fat edging, without wasting yarn lengths, joined separately and without calculating and measuring! A LARGE EYE, tapestry needle with a sharp pointed end, will more easily pierce the band for the first row of even blanket sts.

I really appreciate this! The one disadvantage I have found is that I am easily distracted from counting stitches when I suddenly run out of 3 strands and need to pull a loop again. So I do indeed lose count. But it is not too hard to count all my stitches again (at least, with this 3-thickness yarn, my stitches are BIG!)
