Every person that crochets has a style of their own. If the end result is a piece that you are happy with, then your style works for you. If we didn’t have creative thinkers we wouldn’t have all the beautiful stitches and patterns that are out there to play with

I suppose you could use a spare length of yarn, maybe from the other end of the ball. I know it might be fiddly for the first stitch or two but then you could make it as long as you like. I’m mostly definitely going to practice this. It will make a great beginning for several different projects.

Here's how knitters determine how much yarn we need for a long tail cast on, which should apply to this foundation stitch technique. Wrap your yarn around the shank of your needle 10 times. Then unravel and measure. That's the amount of yarn you need to create 10 stitches. Then you just need to do the math to determine the length you need for the amount of stitches your project calls for. Measure that out from the end, plus about 6 inches (15 cm) - or however much you usually allow. That's where you put your slip knot Or...you can crochet 10 chain stitches, mark the end, then unravel to measure and do the math to get the necessary length.

Oh! This is awesome!! It occurs to me this is a PERFECT way to make simple cords for festival bags-and I don’t think it will stretch! It just so happens I have a stack of festival bags that need straps, so I’m going to play with this. Also, it would be a perfect way to start out anything like tank tops, where you end up with edges where you started with a chain-it’s basically going to make an I-cord edge to launch from rather than a basic chain, and will give edges a professional finish from the beginning rather than having to go back and add something at the end. Brilliant!!

I think we'll start with x3 length of the project we want it to be.. I mean, let's say the first row of your project has to be 40 cm. So we'll measure x3=120 cm yarn and start from there. That's what I understood from the video🤔 My question is, how will we start the second row? I mean, where will we stick the crochet needle to go on.. Edit: I asked her in Turkish to be sure and she answered. It will be 3 times the length of the foundation line. And also she says she recorded another video to show how to go on to the following row and she will upload soon.🤩
