Tony…I am following what your doing with my NS488, trying to duplicate what your doing…and in the process, learning a lot more about my instrument….thank you so much. BUT…I cannot locate the orchestral percussion samples (tympani, tam, bell tree, etc. Can you help ? Is it maybe something that they’re not releasing here in the States ?

It appears these samples have gone missing from the Nord site since I downloaded them a couple of weeks ago. As a "quick fix" I have made them available from this link: tinyurl.com/4hfu5are I will remove the link when Nord reinstate the samples to their site. Enjoy!

The spitfire collab was everythibg Nord needed for their orchestral samples. Holy cow. Like night and day difference in depth from their old samples

when the nord stage 4 dropped , i gave it tought then sold my roland fantom 8,88 i have zero regrets its simply sensational in every way

Did you setup any backing tracks with your Fantom 8 and now have to use a DAW since the NS4 doesn’t have a sequencer?

@@bdsmith63 one of the reasons I bought the fantom is that it was portrayed as a dawless solution . Perhaps it is for some I found the interface pretty awful in that regard and the venue diving for sound creation was the final nail . Yes Nord isn't a workstation . For sound creation it's excellent the pianos compared to Roland's just are in a different league . Each to there own

Amazing video! My stage 4 doesn't sound as brilliant as yours (e.g. when I compare my White Grand sound, I use the XL files) in all your videos (neither via headphones nor via the Nord Piano monitors) - can you explain this? Is it because of your EQ setup, the outputs you use, etc.? - What are you doing differently from the default?

Yes, absolutely you can have two samples layered or split on your Piano 5, plus two piano voices. You should be able to create a similar orchestration to the ones I achieved using the stage 4, just with one less layer.

I was in your store in Reigate many years ago. I only recently discovered the Stage-4, but I am pretty sold on it. Do sounds need to be arranged in a special format or can I just load random sound packs? I am not so keen on the organ, I have some very specific instruments I would like to load.

@@bonnersmusic Hi Tony, thanks for uploading these to share. Really appreciate your enthusiasm for the NS4 sounds and you have really helped me get my head around some of the techniques and where to use them creatively. In version 9 of the Nord Sound Manager I can't see how to load the downloaded percussion samples. They are .nsmp files and the ones generated in my Data folder are nsmp4, is there a way to get them in the library/NS4 safely? Do I alter the file extension? Thanks for your support!

You're right - they've disappeared! I have notified Nord and will let you know when they're back. I think they have just launched a new website which might explain it.

Jistě skvělý nástroj, ale kupovat si je budu, až výrobci budou dávat doživotní záruku jako firma KOSS ... Už mám zkušennost Kurzweil PC3 LE7 .... Po třech letech EXIT a můžu se na něj leda tak dívat ... :(

There is no Xsoft Spitfire Sample on the Nord Web

Thanks for pointing this out! It appears Nord renamed the sample between the video production and launch. It is now called 'Flautando' and can be downloaded from nordkeyboards.com
