Selling my Yamaha CP300 and buy the Grandstage X. I own the great CP 300 for 17 years, it's time for a change. It's been two weeks I've seen this Grandstage X and from the very first minute I new the change time has come. Although it lacks the built-in speakers and for me that is a minuse , this one is the only one that can be a replacement for my CP 300.

Very nice piano for home and so for me, professional for the stage. Sounds are good except jazz organ (it's not the legendary Hammond sound). About mic input it would be better a XLR pro and not this jack 6,35mm witch is rather vintage ! It's also a shame that the illuminated display of functions and programs is not larger, personally I find it really small. is it made ? Japan ?

Holiday Greetings from the USA, Tony! I've watched and benefited greatly from your videos. In fact, you're the reason I felt comfortable purchasing my first Nord this past year, a Stage 4 HA73. I love it! My current 88 note is a Fantom 8. I love the action. However, I'm selling it as there's a lot about the board that doesn't resonate. My Stage 4 HA73 lives between being above the Fantom and in the Salon of my sailboat. I'm not clear whether to replace the Fantom 8 with a Stage 4 88 or a Grand 2. I absolutely love the functionality and sounds of the Stage 4. I'm not totally crazy about its action but am definitely able to emote while playing it. Apparently, the Grand 2 will have a more realistic piano action, but not the functionality of the Stage 4. If I go with the Stage 4 88, there will be times when I have 2 Stage 4s in my studio. Which, I believe, having the HA 73 on the upper tier would be kind of like having a Wave 2+. If I go with the Grand 2, there will be times when I won't have a Stage 4 in my studio. I'd be so grateful for your thoughts? Mitch

Why does this keyboard only have 3 BANKS OF COMBINATIONS the Rest are empty in combination mode …… other wise you can buy it also it freezes up when adjusting the tempo in sequence mode. I’ve have to reboot during gigs

It is a nice instrument for a gig in a pub, but it's not powerful enough to use on stage. It misses low-end and sound-dynamics.

Thank you for making this, I'm really interested in the automatic drum and base accompaniment, a little disappointed they haven't updated their weighted key technology

Incredible instrument. Any digital piano can imitate but far from the real thing. The Rhodes stands on its own, natural. Stevie Wonder would agree with my assessment.

Another KILLER feature: the ability per Part to ignore particular midi CCs! I have a Live Set for Billy Joel’s “Just The Way You Are”. I’m using baritone sax #1 on the CK61’s keyboard. The external sound of course is the phased Rhodes, played on my 88 key controller. But there’s that ‘ahhhh’ vocal sound that is played sometimes. First off, the CK does not AFAIK allow range limitation. The range of the ‘ahhh’ should be no more than Bb to F#, so only a couple of them play at a time. So I set up ‘ahhh’ voices on my Alesis QS7.1, which does allow range limits. But how to get it to be off or on where needed? You can’t do it with CC07, which is channel volume - that ends up controlling overall volume on every device on that midi channel. So on the QS7.1 I assigned a pedal to CC11, which is Expression. And then I set the Parts on the CK61 to ignore Expression! I can now fade the ‘ahhh’ in and out as needed without affecting anything else.

I love this playing style. I am biased because I play in this style. Octave pentatonics on the left and variable 7ths on the right. I'm gonna get one of these. I'm a bit of FM junkie as I have a DX-7, DX-5, TX-816, and an FS1R.

Sounds great. I'm thinking of getting a new keyboard soon mainly for home practice but also for live gigs, so decent 1/4" left and right outputs are important to me. I love the CK61 / 88, but also love the PSR SX-600 which seems to offer so much more for slightly less money, and much more powerful speakers, etc. I just wish there were 73 or 76 key versions of both! I've also recently heard about the Studiologic Numa Compact X SE which offers some very nice sounds and features at a very reasonable price. The Rhodes sounds in particular on the Studiologic blow away any of the Yamahas, even the more expensive models like the CP 73 or the Genos / Montage, etc, and are even on par with prohibitively expensive offerings from Nord.

I can’t help but Kawai digital pianos sound somehow damped, not so bright like a Yamaha or Roland. I would rather choose one of those brands - that is my personal view

Jeez I wish Roland could sample that well. My LX7's concert grand setting sounds most like the velvet which i think is way to twangy in the mids. All the other LX7 settings are garbage.

Just purchased one of these to become my Main Controller. I am classically trained synthesist! Plan is to run many other keyboards through it. Almost purchased the Big Brother to this unit, but opted for the 7 instead of the 11, due to its lighter footprint and size. Plus the added sounds, MIDI sounds, and one extra layering capability. The faders are cool, too! Can’t wait to play and depend primarily on this one. It took me long time to figure this out for my setup

Your video is helping me conquer my fear of "too much all at once" which, in the past has resulted in creative paralysis and ultimately, disengagement. That you're a great player didn't hurt, either 🙂I'm not--I'm mainly self-taught, and I think I could get a lot of enjoyment from this instrument. Thank you for your calm, detailed revelation of what's possible.
