Hey man , so I'm having a bit of trouble with this method. When I export the midi, assign it to the correct folder and all that, I go back intro the guitar and all the notes are grayed out and makes no sound. Do I have to have to have them dragged all the way to the bottom of the note editor when I export? because I cannot hear what I'm editing if they are down there, and. also don't understand why certain midi notes are in different places, but are the same chord? for example, the note pattern you started with here, "basic strumming S16".. thanks!

At about 2:12 where are the actual musical midi notes? I'm having a big problem making the strumming pattern I want, and all I can do is play the library ones. I dragged one from RG into my piano roll and it brought in some articulations on F-1 which is full downstrum, but nomatter how I add/move those the pattern plays precisely the same as the one in the library. Do I have to switch RG into a different mode or something? Thanks!

Yes, you must activate (press) Track button to disable pattern loaded in Pattern view (visually pattern view window will be greyed out)

Thanks a lot for the video. How did you test your pattern straight from the piano roll at 2:13? I've always had to load a pattern separately, make changes to it, save it as a midi, restart the program (FL Studio), and load the edited pattern in RealGuitar. So I've never been able to test how it will sound until I do all those steps, which makes editing complex patterns almost impossible.

Patterns can't play on itself, without chords. You must put chord changes onto another MIDI track and direct it to the same RealGuitar instance. Here on video you can see chords on the first MIDI track. Don't forget to press Track button on RealGuitar GUI to disable pattern loaded to Pattern view

Thank you. I finally got it working. I can't believe there's nothing (as far as I could find) in the RealGuitar documentation that explains this method of pattern editing. It makes experimenting so much easier.

I encounter the same problem. So i did this.. Go to your real guitar pattern folder, right click, unclick the read-only. Now, make a folder in the pattern library, USER folder or whatever you want to call it. And when you start your DAW, run it as administrator, so you have full control to modify. Good luck

You must re-run RealGuitar to let it 'see' the added pattern

So if I've understood you correctly, I can write my own pattern exactly how I want it to sound, export it to the realguitar user library and it will play just like the factory pre sets?

Yeah, u just have to buy the plug in and like so u woulld be able to normally preform and make that task easelly!
