i like old school teaching, as you would learn so much more from it, other than being entertained . He is fantastic!

@@PhotoVideoEDU Im am right in saying that the brighter the light source the lower key the photo based on the cameras dynamic range?
@PhotoVideoEDU3 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. Low-key high key are more about overall contrast. Low-key is an overall dark frame. High-key os overall very bright frame. You could have a very bight light in either situation, but in low-key you would control that light source with a grid, spot, snoot or something else to prevent it from spilling off the main subject onto the rest of the scene and thereby raising up the brightness of the scene). Hope that helps!

Very clear, concise info. Lighting is lighting and it's timeless. I wonder if we should refer to Rembrandt as old school?! Great presenter - such a pleasant humble demeanor. There are other self proclaimed photog teachers I've run across (not here) on KZbin that I just can't bear listening to do to the egos and snarkiness they convey. Thank you for this straight forward presentation.

great session and im super late to discover this im late to the party! I do wonder why Tony set cloudy white balance is it due to those particular bowens light having a colour cast or because RAW shooting it doesnt matter as will be changed later in post?

Tony Corbell is the best lighting instructor I've seen. He really knows his stuff and he presents it well. I think the yellow pocket wizard on the camera is very ugly. It's just tacky looking. Gabbey's kinda cute and she models well.

When taking studio portrait with strobes, shouldn't the goal be to shoot with an F stop much wider as a F2.8? By lowering the intensity of the strobes. Or is this not important because you are creating depth using intensity of light? Therefore to reduce the depth of field is not as important.

Great tutorial in many ways here. Lots of information being imparted. I still wish you hadn't kept saying "Does that make sense" sometimes several times in one minute. That's poor presentation. Since so many aspects are good, it would be great if you fix this in future. Thanks for helping me to improve my pictures!
