Bro you are doing a lot for people like us that is learning on it's own! I appreciate too much the job you're doing! thank you so much!

Smashing the drums or using transient designer to cut the attack on the way in can also make the fake rooms sound bigger and blend with the direct mics easier.
@TazzSmk10 ай бұрын
aand JS General Dynamics plugin included in Reaper is suitable for that :))
@mrcoatsworth42910 ай бұрын
Yeah, I find that the attack of the close mics into a reverb often sounds fake.
@JiihaaS10 ай бұрын
That's a great advice, thanks! You can also blur transients with a very short, wet reverb as well, so I'd imagine doing that before the actual room reverb might help too.

Big G’s reverbs are a huge help thanks for all the videos and the links to this site and all the invaluable information. I heard around the mill that you hated reaper when it came out but I would find that hard to believe now and think that if that’s true I appreciate the effort you’ve made to work past your differences and share this knowledge with us. Thank you Kenny!!!

You can also pan your sends to give them a stereo image in the "mics" :).

Excellent as usual. One question: would the result be very different if the original room mics had been used instead perhaps with just one version of Reaverb?

Exellent for us that don't have a big room! Thank you.

Really nice! I am trying to do this with MT power kit. I see my mistake. My reverb is too small, I have a big one on the snare, I need to use that. By the way, do you think the MT power hihats can get a little phasey? I think the search continues.
@JeserNoob2 ай бұрын
You can get Steven Slate Drums 5 for free and robot dog drums for a reasonable price and those sound good. I didn’t like MT power drum kit after hearing SSD5.

Great Video Kenny. Do you know where I / we can get studio room IR's? I have been looking for them and can't seem to find any.
@@REAPERMania Thanks Kenny. I think what I meant is places like Example Abby roads studio ( the Room they record in) or am I missing something.

Man you are the master at Reaper Kenny. They might not have the prettiest tools, but they sure have the biggest free pallet of tools out there. The only thing I would have done different was put a good tape sim plugin on the reverb to absorb a little bit of that tail. I wonder if there is a good free/donationware version of a tape sim out there?

Great video! Why did you leave the dry on the second reverb? Doesn't that make the original dry sound just twice as loud, shouldnt both reverbs be just wet?
@Arkansya2 ай бұрын
they are chained : the 2nd verb dry is only the wet from the 1st
@Arkansya2 ай бұрын
meaning no dry drums reaches the 2nd verb plugin input anyways
