the thing with the daughter really is too specific but imagine seeing the first one if you did actually lose your kid to drowning. that's kind of common, honestly, the stories about drowned kids are enough of a PSA. Just one correction, the police will absolutely hold you back as letting you near the body would contaminate a crime scene, and unoccompanied deaths are treated as crime scenes until the medical examiner says otherwise. I unfortunately learned this very recently when my mother passed away. We did a welfare check but since nobody could see anything out of place the cop said he was not allowed in, however when i found her he immediately closed it off and wouldnt let anyone into the apartment.
