As a nanny, loved seeing Daddy Gonzalez speak out about the harm of AI kids content. The difference between kids I watch with and without youtube kids access is immeasurable. Children deserve good quality media that aids in development while also entertaining them, not this shit thats literally rotting their brains.
@cassualtea2040Ай бұрын
Too many people who make this kids content just see kids as a demographic they can earn money from. There's none of the thought that should be going into these kinds of edutainment efforts for developing kids like "Who is this for? What do we want them to learn from this? How should we make them feel." Its kids content being made by people who don't care about kids beyond the watchtime that they can give them.

i realized that somehow with children’s content, the emotional emptiness is more evident than with any other genre. it’s significantly easier to tell when media for kids was made with love and care and passion, and when it wasn’t. i’d be interested to know if anyone has explored why it’s such a stark difference.
@froaggyАй бұрын
A lot of children’s content is low quality fetish slop, it’s really gross
@beansandboarsontherun5762Ай бұрын
@@chiefofthesky My theory; It's really easy to make something that you can call "Kid's content" in all forms of media. Kids aren't often very critical about things, certainly not to the degree adults are, nor are they very aware of what makes something quality, or what makes something lack quality. They also don't have as much of a frame of reference as older people who have seen more things and can therefore distinguish better what is good and what is not. It's also just a fact that even high quality kids content is very simple. While many kids are definitely more capable than adults give them credit for, it is also true that keeping things simple, especially the younger they are, just makes things a lot less frustrating for everyone involved. Like when I was a kid, I enjoyed the Jungle Book (the animated movie). I also loved to read, so I tried to read the ACTUAL Jungle Book. It was infuriating to me, it was way more complicated than I felt it needed to be. Look at children's books, you know. Even the ones we look back on fondly... I mean, really, anyone could have written most of them. Simple language, short sentences, silly premises. It's REALLY easy to entertain kids, especially younger ones. Shitty people recognize this and use it to their benefit. You COULD make a very high quality show with in depth writing, important lessons, fun and educational content, etc. Or... you could make some crude 3d models of generic but friendly looking characters, play a funny jingle over it and tell some fart jokes, and booom-you have now grabbed the attention of hundreds of children. Sure, they're not gaining anything of value... but the funny voices are all they need to keep watching the screen, putting money into your pocket. And nowadays with kids being allowed to run rampant on the internet without supervision, there's often times no adult standing next to them to say "Hey, this content is mindless or even downright inappropriate!" and point them in a better direction while doing something active against (like reporting) said inappropriate content, so it's really easy to get that stuff in front of kids and just.. keep it there.

In regards to the personality copying/algorithm discussion, the frustrating thing I've noticed about getting started on KZbin is that yes, those trends DO matter. Its frustrating as a smaller creator, because it feels like you're forced to make the same videos as everyone else. I like to make Minecraft content (All my old content is currently unlisted) and it genuinely feels like you can't get anywhere if you don't make the same 100 Days slop or whatever else every other content creator on the platform is putting out. As someone with OCD, it makes me so irritated that Brent copied Rhett and Link’s music and video. They made that video because Rhett’s wife has OCD. Sure, it’s a stereotypical representation, but it’s well done and they did it because of the lived experience of someone close to them. Brent blatantly copying it for clout destroys any kind of real meaning behind the song and commodifies OCD for profit.
@lavenderstarzzzАй бұрын

I just went to watch both videos, having never seen either of them. I have OCD too, which doesn't always present as a feeling that things are out of place, but it can. It doesn't bother me that much when people make OCD-related jokes; I don't really like it either, but there are many, much worse things to make jokes about. Rhett & Link's video did at first come across a little weird, considering the only joke seemed to be "a guy with OCD is upset" - at least until the punchline at the end, where it turns out that Link actually enjoyed fixing everything, which I thought was cute. Brent's video I wouldn't have clocked was even about OCD until he said "it's just my OCD." Most of the things that were bothering him in that video seemed like things that would bother a lot of people. I guess he's just so used to copying everything that he had to copy that too lol

I also have OCD and am a big fan of Rhett and Link (their GMM ep on OCD was what introduced them to me, actually). I still don’t love the music video; it’s a play on the unhelpful “I’m so OCD” joke, and just because Rhett’s wife has OCD and they asked her about it before posting doesn’t really make that different. But I do appreciate that they took the time to not only put that disclaimer in their description but also a GMM ep discussing what OCD is and isn’t following the release of the music video.

On the same unrelated topic, i also have the blue highlight with the little magnifiying glass on various comments. I have resolutely not clicked it, but it seems like it's trying to find things that are searchable like certain phrases or more complex words or full names (like for an actor or politician), so i feel like it's a search feature if you're too lazy to copy the text into google and see what it returns. I do not like it, and thankfully it goes away when i view the replies of the comment. I once saw one highlight the words "brain rot". This started like 2 days ago for me

The funniest part is that Gordon Ramsay is most definitely NOT FaceTiming Brent at 26:35. Brent is using an iPhone without a home button but the video is cropped to 16:9 and has black bars. It makes me so sad how Gen. Z and some Millennials can immediately recognize a video based on how bad it is. I hate that I can know look at something and immediately recognize "Oh that's rage bait, A.I., or brainrot." It's invaded every part of life. I always check on my baby brother and sister when they're watching cartoons because I have to switch away from brainrot or bad lessons. I have to gently explain to my Mom that the images she's seeing is A.I. NOT a real house being sold for a suspiciously low amount. Or having to talk my younger sister down from a panic attack because she saw a ragebait video out of nowhere. It disgusts me that laws are so behind in the digital world to the point the Internet is just a wasteland.

Its because the ai content thief scammer can do all of that in their free time while the artist has to devote time and effort to a craft to be successful in persuing it as a career.
@haleyc.3530Ай бұрын
@@dogbot55 yeah but like let’s say you can make 30 ai drawings in the same time it takes a real artist to make one good real drawing, people don’t like ai art as much so the engagement you’ll get for 30 crappy ai arts is likely less than the engagement you’d get from one good real art so you might as well spend your time making art normally. Plus ai art is of dubious legality and therefore not a good thing to base your career off. It also doesn’t build any skills so you are left with zero transferable skills if it doesn’t work out for you unlike real art which can be applied to many fields. Plus any given person can make it for free just as easily so no one who is pro ai art is likely to pay you for using your ai art rather than just typing some keywords into the ai generator themselves to make something similar for free.

Its also insane that Brent Rivera tried to copy Rhett and Link's iconic OCD song thinking no one would notice, and the audacity he has to post that song which copied large portions of the original conception of the song is insane. Well, it isn't the song word for word, the bits in the video that Danny pointed out that Brent copied for sure, and the fact he clearly just slightly reworded the original disclaimer that Rhett and Link had shows that he thought he could just loosely copy the concept of the song and then change the lyrics and call it a day without thinking people would notice.

I’m a new teacher and recently they required everyone to attend a meeting where they told everyone how they should be using AI in the classroom. They showed off that Suno music making site to the entire school district and played this AWFUL song about how teachers have the most important job in the world. As a music producer and music teacher I was just seething in my chair. Then the person who runs the choir with me decided to use it to make a song to sing with the choir. Now all the teachers are using it because they think it’s so cool and it just makes me depressed. I physically cannot describe how shitty and soul-less everything that comes out of that site sounds. None of them understand how angry it makes me as a professional musician to watch them type some words into the computer and watch a horribly written & fully produced song pop out in seconds. Makes my blood boil and now they’ve got the entire school district using it.

Nothing they can ever do will match up to choir music by real people tho, and I’m sure the kids will like what you pick and teach much better, too. The OCD song feels so gross to me. I have OCD and even if I don't like Rhett and Link's song personally cause it's stereotypical, I can at least appreciate it because Rhett's wife has OCD so it's not like it was made in disrespect. And some other OCD havers don't mind it either. But then Brent comes in and just. Fully remakes the song. Because it was popular. And I can't say if he has or doesn't have OCD. But considering his main goal was, you know, taking the song from Rhett and Link, it's feel so gross. Like. It just comes off as extra gross considering OCD already has a reputation of being mocked and seen as "haha silly perfection disorder" online and treated as like "im SO ocd" which just...is so disrespectful and ableist. So for Brent to basically take the song with most like 0 understanding of OCD or even someone with it feels so extra gross to me. Not to mention it's just...straight copied. That is awful. How low do you have to go, Brent? What is your problem? Edit: Even the disclaimer feels hollow coming from Brent. Like he just put it in cause Rhett and Link did. Like it feels just like full on mocking in Brent's. Just check off all the notes to avoid and issue. Edit 2: And thank you repliers for mentioning the stereotypical part of Rhett and Link's song is to poke fun at people that say stuff like that. I did not know that as I have never really cared about Rhett and Link or ever really seen the song. But useful info. I did a bit of looking into what people thought of it before I commented, but just wanted to add this in an edit for people that may not read comment replies. So like. I can respect Rhett and Link's song. And I doubt Brent did any of that much thinking going into it. Just took it without a second thought and put in the disclaimer cause they did it. Absolutely shameless.

i mean to be fair, rhett and links song is stereotypical because its intention is to poke fun of people who like you said, throw around OCD as some silly unserious jokey mental health term. But i completely agree w everything

iirc rhett and link’s song is actually intended to poke fun at people who say they have OCD because they like stuff to be clean or orderly, not people who actually have OCD

Feels similar, in a way, to how neurodivergent/autism in-jokes poking fun at themselves became more popular and then started being used as straight up insults. When someone is “laughing with you” from a place of camaraderie, it’s just a totally different vibe than someone making a joke because they think it’ll get them attention / it’s trendy, but they’ve taken no time to understand the community or to empathize. They still have all of those biases.

35:13 I was listening to Danny’s video while playing some random ass game, and honestly, I was snapped out of my trance by the sound of Danny speaking in brainrot. Like, I had to do a double take making sure I was hearing things right.

It’s weird how Brent has evolved backwards. Instead of starting out taking inspiration, to then create a recognizable image and entertainment people specifically would want from him, he was a teen with original content, to a lazy adult😭

@@Bigman-ff6eoto quote a comment on this video by @ravenclawesome9093 “they (content creators who openly steal) think their actions are admirable solely by virtue of making money” so yes he is working “smarter” at making money. But it’s still theft, money isn’t the most important thing. Even if it was by stealing ideas he is still stealing views and therefore money from smaller creators.

I love that youtubers who have been on the platform for a long time are complaining so much about the amount of stealing, plagiarism, and ai use. Its making every social media platform so soulless and boring and im glad that they are bringing this stuff up.

How do these copycats even enjoy life when they clearly don't have a single original thought in their brain? It would be fine if they used someone else's idea and then put their own twist on it, but they're not even capable of doing that. When you look into their eyes, you see nothing.

I’ve never felt more involved in something than seeing Danny’s weird tiktoks and then seeing the KZbin video explaining his strange new posting 😅
