The world faces an increasingly troublesome issue: waste. And we must find a solution.
Naia™ Renew from Eastman creates a sustainable solution for textile waste that’s truly circular through Eastman’s molecular recycling technology. The result is Naia™ Renew fibers that can be used in apparel and home textiles.
We process materials that create Naia™ Renew at Eastman’s global headquarters in Kingsport, Tennessee. The first step of the molecular recycling process is to shred the apparel waste we receive. The shredded material is then fed into an agglomerator that melts the material and creates pellets, which are then pulverized into a fine powder.
The powder goes through Eastman’s molecular recycling technology process to create acetic acid, which is combined with wood pulp and dried to form hard filament. Through a spinning process, the filament is spun and inspected for flaws before being packaged.
And this is just the beginning of the Naia™ Renew story. Our customers show the world what’s possible every day by using our sustainable fibers in a variety of apparel and home textile applications.
