Just downloaded Sketchup for ipad yesterday. This was super useful. I’m using it for woodworking. Modeling projects. Creating cut lists. And I totally plan on creating a layout for my shop that I am redoing. Thanks for the help

Hi Aaron, you are such a great teacher! I’m new to Sketchup for IPad and have a few questions. 1) can you do LAYERS on the iPad or only on Desktop Pro version? 2) what is the best way to organize GROUPS and COMPONENTS so that you can find them later on?

Another great video. Thank you Aaron! I look forward to seeing more of these (and I'm curious about that line below the list that says "2 unavailable videos are hidden". Why are they hidden? What are you hiding?? 🤔). And a question: in the Create Component menu, there is an option for "Shadows face sun". Toggling this on and off is disabled. What does this mean and how can I activate toggling for it? A question for a future video. Thanks again!

SketchUp for iPad is brand new. While I cannot say if LayOut will end up on iPad at some point in the future, iPad limited power make it an unlikely candidate for rendering (but we will see what the future holds_

Can a sketch up files be converted to DWG files? Are they compatible?

SketchUp can natively import and export over a dozen different file formats, one of which is DWG! Yay!

Just a picky little question since I’m a video guy. Why was this shot in 4:3?

This series of videos are shot in the aspect ratio for a 9" iPad Pro (which is VERY close to 4:3)

groups are stupid and should be banned from sketchup just make a component. it has everything a group has and more

Both have their specific uses. If you make one object and want five copies each with different colours why would you use a component?
