Playing with different colours is such fun. Using a limited palette (a few select colours only) in one painting is very helpful in creating colour harmony, but what if you want to use many colours of the rainbow in one painting?

The use of raw sienna light absolute genius!!! Your hands have been truly blessed by God. Many years ago, when I was a very young cloistered Carmelite monk, my Novice Master told me "Brother, you have been given a talent. Use it to show that God is not dead, but alive and present everywhere." You, dear Anastasia, have that talent. I do not know if you are a religious person and I really don't care. We all have our own way of praising the Almighty. I see God as a prism. You shine a white light through a prism and it brakes into a myriad of colors, yet, it is the same white light breaking into different manifestations of the same source. By the presence of Immenstity, the Deity is present in everything, from a stone, to a lighthouse, to a tree. You are giving praise, by your talent, to the Deity who is present in evey aspect of our lives. God bless you. Happy painting! And once again, thank you so much for teaching us to do the same.

Thank you for such a kind comment - it means so much. I am not a religious person but I do believe there is something so much bigger than us, and I find my connection to that source in my painting practice, especially when I paint my landscapes. Thank you again, for your beautiful words and for watching my videos!

I use a lot of brushes by our local Australian brand called NEEF, I am not sure how easy they are to find in the US. These are my favourite ones: seniorart.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4_142_235_2667 I also love DaVinci Casaneo series 490 long mops, and I have been using them a lot lately: www.jacksonsart.com/en-au/da-vinci-casaneo-synthetic-watercolour-brush-series-490-rigger-size-2

This happens to me all the time and probably because of my low patience that makes me wanna do a painting in one session. My mentor ask me if I rememebered to pause, or at lest take some steps bakward...I guess You know answer. There is a long way forward until I rememeber doing it, I suppose. I see it and I also know that those paintings I've been pleased with are those where took pause 1 or maybe several.

Yes! When I paint off-camera it takes me days to finish a painting as I need lots of breaks to actually see what the painting is trying to "tell" me...

As always, thank you for sharing your thought processes and decision making. Question if I may, do you plan your composition ahead of painting, ie. a thumbnail and colour planning or do you go straight into the painting and follow your heart? ❤
@AnastasiaMily
@AnastasiaMily Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Julie! When I paint off camera I jump in and follow my heart with the majority of my paintings. It is a slow process though, often taking days. When I record these videos I usually have a plan or it would take me forever to complete them 😆 Thumbnail sketches are super helpful though and I love using them, they take some creative pressure off.

I absolutely love you technique and style of painting. Is there a way to purchase a bundled class directly from you instead of going to etcherstudios? I’m not interested in a subscription including other artists. Thanks.
@AnastasiaMily

Thank you for your kind words! I don't think there is a way to purchase my classes separately... Looks like Etchr have switched to the full subscription model instead of also having an option of purchasing separate classes. I am very sorry.
