Creating Icons in PowerPoint to use in OneNote Planner

Creating icons and smart art graphics in PowerPoint that I can use for my daily planner page for 2023 in OneNote. I am going for more of a bullet journal style notebook planner for myself this year. That includes creating some customized items to make things cohesive and functional. Let's do this! Blooper at the end!

Ctrl + clicking at each of them works of course, but you should also be able to choose them all by simply drawing a rectangle around them that is big enough to include all icons. You use it kinda like the lasso function in OneNote.

Great video. Thank you. I never thought about using power point to be honest. It makes sense that it offers these features though since you might need them in presentations. I usually use Canva (free version). I have cute PNG files I'd rather use as my icons, but now I know how I could use them.

hi crystal. I am greatly enjoy seeing your videos on using OneNote as a digital planner. I don't know if you know this but you can put a table within a table. I do this quite a lot to align them. I hide the borders on the outermost table. just thought I'd pass that along.

Tell me more about how to get the disc graphic for the spiral notebook look.

Well the easiest way is to Google spiral graphics and purchase one from an Etsy seller. But you can also create them in Powerpoint. Another option might be just a stitched line down the middle when you insert a line you can change the look of the line to be a dashed line and it looks like a notebook has been stitched. That's a little bit easier to achieve then creating a half circles.

Yes you can! I use the pens to color in or highlight for each day.

@@CrystalClearLife Another way you can do this, if you are using the OneNote on a Windows computer, is to use the icons that are already installed (I'm not sure if this can be done on Apple or Android as I only have Windows computers and tablets). By holding down the windows key and the colon key a pretty good selection of options come up. They can be treated exactly the same as any character on the keyboard which means you can increase the font size etc. You can also use them as links (which can be a pretty cute way to move around your notebooks/pages etc.) You can also use the normal Highlight option, just as you would if you were highlighting a piece of text.
