On dominant chords in jazz, in a blues tune for example, it's very common to use the mixolydian scale. In this video I show you a tip used by many musicians (Wes Montgomery, Charlie Parker) that helps creating nice jazz licks : thinking about 2 arpeggios and going from one to the other.
This tip can also be used on a steady II V just like in Satin Doll, Lover Man or Honeysuckle rose : Gm7 C7 Gm7 C7 Gm7 C7 Gm7 C7 F.
