Beautiful curation so far!! When you show us the completed view I would love to see the chandelier turned on with the lamps and candles. The full charming cozy experience. Thank for graciously having us into your home. Your talent and skill are exceptional. When you finish your nest you should have your own design company OR start out with design consults on your channel where you go to someone's home they have a room that needs transformation and you assist them with direction, resources, vision... Dont know if you are aware of how special your gift/ talent is? You are blessed. I get so much inspiration from you! Thank you!!!

The soft cottage feeling of this bedroom is such a change for the NYC dark and moody vibe. Can't wait to see if this home will change your aesthetic in decorating. I have an iron canopy bed which I have always loved. Even with 8 foot ceilings, it feels grand in my room. Love the wallpaper and bedding together. And who wouldn't adore a fireplace in the bedroom. Every woman's dream!

The same thing happens to me on the highway as well. I thought it was just me! I'm a clinician as well. I truly feel it's anxiety related. Living in the Boston area can present with stressful driving situations. Amazingly and somewhat by accident, I found a solution that has pretty much changed my life as I'm driving. As much as I love music, I've started listening to audio books while I'm driving. It helps me feel so relaxed and calm when I'm driving. It's been life changing. I absolutely love your design style. The bedroom is gorgeous!! ❤🥰

Don't rule out a physical cause for the dizziness. Neck tension or position can cause vertigo for me. Physical therapy taught me exercises that eliminated about 90% of the vertigo I was having. There's one exercise I still do while driving to manage dizziness. Driving, sitting, lifting heavy things, stress, TMJ, occipital neuralgia, cervical herniated discs, etc. can all trigger dizziness. Driving is stressful even without dizziness!

I went through your exact same thing with driving , super scary …. I was on an interstate in the middle of the night and the world started to spin … I thought it was a one time thing , but continued on for three years of panic when attempting to drive . I’m finally over it and what a relief , I felt like a prisoner and was so scared I would never drive again . Hang in there , you got this :)

@@heatherl3328 I went to therapy and went on Prozac . I was desperate because I’m a road traveler :) It was alot of work to overcome my fear and I’m finally over it , drove to Palm Beach this year . I really think the pro act is what helped , I’ve warned myself from the medication because I don’t like to depend on meds , I prefer natural healing , but I became scared and desperate to get over my fear of driving which literally came out of nowhere ! I was always a road warrior and drove everywhere in the USA :)

I have not become dizzy while driving. However, my eyes became transfixed on the road while driving long-distance at night. It was a frightening experience! I believe it was due to fatigue and stress, but I can’t be certain. Nevertheless, I decided not to drive long-distances during the day and into the night, only during daylight hours.

Your bedroom looks beautiful! I used to enjoy driving because I lease my vehicle's and get a new one to drive every three years, but all that changed when I started working in auto claims for a large insurance company! Part of my job as an adjuster is to determine liability and I have to listen to peoples blow by blow description of their auto accidents! Because of this, I'm somewhat of a nervous driver. I find that being a defensive driver, not overly cautious, helps. I'm not only paying attention to what I'm doing, but anticipating what the drivers around me are doing.

NO WAY! I have the same driving problem!!!! I’m 53, out of the blue 3 yrs ago I was driving & got dizzy, light headed, felt like I was going to pass out! Has happened several times since & it made me so AFRAID to drive on the freeway, I’m a single Mom & don’t do road trips anymore, I’ve never heard of anyone else saying this!!!! I have driving anxiety, in town or city I’m ok but the high speed freeway, forget it. 😭

I have fibromyalgia and PTSD from childhood trauma. I started having problems driving before I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia where out of nowhere I'd see three four roads in front of me and thought I was going to pass out. I don't have vertigo! But I don't and can't drive far and days I know that I absolutely don't dare drive by the way I feel! There's been times I've had to have someone come get me after shopping trips to town which is an hour away from home in any direction I go. It's difficult to rely on others but I'd hate to think I could hurt someone else including myself if I drive! Getting help from therapists helps in navigating with life situations like this! I wish you the best 🙏🏼

Absolutely lovely ❤ I know the feeling of anxiety with driving on highways. I4 in Florida is my nemesis. I have gotten better on I95 and have desensitized myself because my best friend lives in South Florida and it gives me courage knowing I have the best time with her. The first 1/2 hour I’m a bit squirrelly then I settle down. My go to music is Sting’s Living Seas, very calming ❤

I have lived the vast majority of my Life in Orlando, Florida. I know precisely what you mean about I-4. It also does not help that I-4 consistently ranks in the TOP 3 of "Deadliest Highways in the Nation." I left Florida at the end of 2022 in order to buy a lovely Home and find Peace. I now reside in the Midwest and driving here is profoundly more calm!

You definitely have a gift of creating a home wherever you go! Can't wait to see what else you do in your new house. Don't worry about the driving- I moved from Brooklyn to upstate NY 2 years ago-I did have a car down there for many years but gave it up in 2014 cause it was ridiculously expensive! So I didn't drive much for 7 years but now I feel so comfortable- I have never gotten dizzy but it sounds like you are digging into why that is happening and it's gonna all work out. 🤗

It doesn’t really work over the fireplace because it’s too high, but I think that it would be fantastic on the bed wall and help in making the room seem larger. Give it a try, but whatever you decide I wouldn’t put it over the fireplace. ❤️

Love the faux canopy! and that bed is so beautiful. I think art would look much nicer above the fireplace, cause the mirror as it is now it only reflects the chandellier and you can barely look at yourself being that high. May be in the opposite wall where is a desk or in the wall facing the bed it'll look better and be more useful and better reflecting natural light in walls with no windows ;)

Driving in the highway was by a stretch my number one fear when I began consistently driving 2 years ago. With exposure I feel that it’s gotten so much better I now drive to other states (I live in NYC) and till this day I cannot believe how far I’ve come. My anxiety went down in 2023 when I drive “far” for the first time to New Jersey to drop off a friend. When I realized I was able to do that and get her safely home and then myself safely home, I knew something had pivoted. The drive back was a hassle and I managed to maneuver all the weird roads and exits and traffic well despite my nervousness. I was proud of myself and from that day on I would drive further and further. Now, I pretty much don’t mind getting in the highway.

@@PrettyinthePines lol yes I knew streets to get places no one ever heard of lol. It was my way and not the highways and then one day in my late 40’s I was fine. It was a very scary moment in my life. I suggest you put a brown paper bag in your glove box. I use to be a nurse. You cup the brown paper bag over your entire mout and nose and breath your own breath in and out goes the paper bag ( does that make sense) just a regular old brown paper lunch bag. It helps breathing in and out slowly. So when you feel the panic just pull over put on your blinkers and breath darling. I’m sorry you go through this. Oh no!! I've heard from SO many others that deal with this so you are definitely not alone! It can be scary and definitely affect things you say yes/no to :(

Beautiful, and the warmth added to the room is incredible!!! Must be nice to actually apply “screws” to your walls instead of Command strips. 😜

Perhaps consider painting the frame of the mirror the same colour as the bed frame? The contrast would be lovely.

You are the only person that I have ever encountered who is able to paint and not be wearing the paint. Love your new home and loving your design journey so far, NY and NC. Can't wait to see more, more, more❤❤❤

Exactly as you described it - cozy boutique hotel💗 Especially love the chandelier, it makes the room! WOW, I have the same fear driving!! But only on freeways. I was fine until about 20 years ago. My mom had the same thing.... learned, inherited, or coincidence? Sometimes I feel like a prisoner because I can't jump on the freeway by myself to go somewhere ☹

I felt the exact same way… a prisoner. Talking about it really is helping though. I hope you have found some coping mechanisms!

Gorgeous room. What a before and after! I loved your city apartment and I just love your new home. A thought - if you are painting the ceiling maybe paint the hooks holding the canopy rods the ceiling and they might disappear.

I’d suggest you look into 3step moulding (cornice) to enlarge (you can use 1 style above and 1 below)your existing moulding around your room. This would elevate your room and bring the elegance you’re looking for. Your room is looking stunning.

You have the best taste and style. I love it! I totally get the driving anxiety. Mine started from having hyperthyroidism with a crazy fast heart rate which then would turn into panic attacks. Once I started taking meds to control my thyroid it started getting better. Love following your journey.
