@@donaldstevens272 fossil Pokémon shouldn’t always be rock type. Bastiodon makes sense but craydilly doesn’t. Craydilly should be grass water, not rock grass as it’s entry said it lived in the water. It is not longer a fossil but rather it’s original Pokémon. It’s not like they keep any rock inspiration after the resurrection
@marhawkman3032 жыл бұрын
@@neonpenguin0948 Seee, this fits with the idea of "improving" them after they get recreated. Turn fossil into Cradilly, do a sideways evo to make Cradilly less... rock. I feel the need to point out that Gen8 was the gen to introduce lego-fossils that don't actually make proper pokemon. Also their typings are based on which legos were used to make them. Use a fossil fish, get a water-type, etc... But each needs 2 fossils and thus has 2 types. Although some fossils have logic behind why they're rock, so maybe not all of them? But it'd be a neat gimmick to do with a new fossil research place. Hmm...... What secondary types make sense for older fossils? Omastar... this is one where the basic design has rock type all over it. It having a stone shell is explicit in most of it's pokedexes. It's learnset is also not that deep, mostly water and rock moves. But if we assume that's corrupted from bad info.... Well, what is the inspiration? It's a cephalopod with a potent venom in it's bite. So... maybe Poison? It could have a purple shell and spit sludgebombs. Kabutops: for unknowable reasons these guys have ALWAYS had grass type moves in their move list. Maybe water/grass, but as a physical attacker? Aerodactyl: first thought is dragon, but.... no, actually, it doesn't get any dragon stuff. It does get some dark stuff though, and it's mega form has black spikes. Cradily: sure living in water is a reason to go for water/grass, but it gets more poison than water. Poison does make some sense when looking at the original idea. Armaldo is a rock/bug that weirdly learns a lot of water attacks. Rampardos.... very... rock.... but also has dark attacks? Shieldon... maybe pure steel? it learns mostly steel moves. Caracosta: honestly... it's a sea turtle... can't think of anything except maybe fighting that'd make any sense. but it has no affinity for fighting. maybe pure water or water/dark(because it does get crunch)? Archeops: why is it in a WATER breeding group? hmmm? It actually gets more than one dragon attack so maybe dragon/flying? Tyrantrum: this is another that legit makes sense as a rock type. but it does get Earthquake naturally so maybe ground/dragon? Aurorus... learns mostly ice moves. It does however get an electric status move naturally... and oddly enough can use electric TMs... which is very unusual for an Ice type. so ice/electric

Me and my friends did something similar for our Greece based regions fossil pokemon. A lot of myths were inspired by the fossils of animals, so we made our fossil pokemon based around that idea. One example is a cyclops/mammoth hybrid, because when mammoth skulls were first discovered, the greeks thought it was a big one eyed monster, leading to the creation of the myth of the cyclops. So, we gave the fossil mon a long trunk as well as one eye for both the cyclops and mammoth.
@nunyabizness8919 Жыл бұрын
I also did something similar in a similarly Greece-based fakémon region. My fossils were based on the Aurochs (an extinct ancestor of the bull) and the dwarf elephant. I made it so that the prevos were only part of their evolved form. The Aurochs started as just the front half that gained a back half and a second pair of legs in its evolution, and the dwarf elephant started as the back half of an elephant that used its tail as a trunk, then gained an actual head upon evolving.

And you chose two of my favorite prehistoric animals from that region. I am a little sad, that you didn't go for the almost quadrupedal elongated shape with the short legs for Braediate like the newest reconstructions of Spinosaurus look since I like that about it, but I totally get it. This interpretation looks a lot like the Early 2000s Version of the Spinosaurus (See Jurassic Park 3) and I get that a lot of people prefer a sleek long-legged predator design over the kinda goofy short-legged one. I still really enjoy the Pokemon and design liberties are always fair game. Also A fire Dragon type with Water coverage sounds so much fun to use. (I just assumed it has Scald). 0:39 I sense spinosaurus. 0:49 bloody knew it. Egypt? Yep. Change over time? Yep. Also, the pre-evolution being based on the older depiction works well for another reason, that being spinosaurs evolved from dinosaurs called megalosaurs, and the old depiction was mostly based on megalosaurus itself. So spinosaurus metaphorically evolved from a megalosaurus like depiction in palaeontology, as well as literally evolving from megalosaurs themselves, so the pre-evolution works both ways.

I know this is an old video, but I (personally) think it would have been very interesting for the pre-evos to be part Rock type because of the idea that most of the fossils get their typing from the fossilization process. I'm not usually a commenter, but I love all of these so much. I think this is, by far, your strongest batch of Pokémon yet!

I can see Braediate using its tail to boil a point of the water to bring its prey to the surface. Basilapis is cute! All these are great!

Sailumin is exactly the kind of pokemon I love and don’t show up as much in the newer games. Thanks for making it :)

I can imagine the horror if a trainer released their Drownormous into the ocean. Imagine being in deep waters in your small submerine examining rock formations. As you turn it around to go up you spot ommnimus orange eyes moving backwords. You slowly move closer to see a Drownormous dragging a deceased Corsola or similar down. You're hit with confusion, and terror.

Your Paracer Pokémon reminds me of an Indricotherium Pokémon I created for a region of my own! Looks absolutely awesome!

awesome as always! i love the idea that fossils are revived in a way that is subject to the scientist's reconstructions, rather than in a "pure" way like if you had the genome and cloned it. plus, these are some of my favorite prehistoric critters c:

The first two Pokémon have similar color schemes to garchomp, it became especially clear when I saw the shinies, I’ve tried finding an alternate shiny to the one it has and the colors matched Ron’s shinies almost perfectly.

Y'know what's interesting? There was once a giant sea going snake that lived in North Africa around 40 million years ago as well! It was called Gigantophis

I took a pretty recent base. I have a fire/rock type based on the arsinoitherium (pyrhino to arsonerium), and an electric/rock type based on the stomatosuchus (shockodile to statisuchus). They come from the horn fossil and the wire fossil.

My favorite dinosaur. I also actually thought the Brown fossil was a Paraceratherium.

I love love LOVE the concept of fossils being innacurately revived and then being restored to their true form later, I want that to be real so badly.
