He was the best dribbler in the league, the most skillful player in the league, the best free kick taker in the league, and undoubtedly the best player. He also had a stronger weak foot than Salah, was better in the air and better at penalties. The only thing Salah has on him is G/A ratio, which is because he was in his peak the entire time and played further forward for longer. His Madrid peak is irrelevant - looking at his alone, he is undoubtedly in his team and it’s not a debate. And I say this as someone who thinks Salah is easily the 2nd best winger in prem history

And nearly had a Quadruple. Plays against teams that have much better quality overall than in Ronaldo era at Man Utd. Started in a Liverpool team that was being rebuilt and broke records immediately and stayed consistently great from that point. Ronaldo had one truly amazing season and 2 good seasons. Was developing before that. Anyone who was old enough to understand football back then knew he had great potential for his first 4 seasons but it was the 3 seasons after that when he stepped up. Ronaldo will always be remembered as a united legend as he should. But his best time came after United. Salah has earned his place on the list

Kevin De Bruyne is being penalised for being an incredible athlete is what Rory's seemingly saying. It depends on how you calculate it. Gerrard and lampard both have played twice as many games and scored twice as many goals in their Premier league careers than KDB. I would say KDB is at the same level as both of those players and potentially even higher but has not done it for as long as those two. If you value longevity, consistency, and availability, then KDB doesn't get in yet.

KDB should problably be in the team, though he's not walking easily in the team (yet, at least). I see van dijk staying in the premier league till he's well past 33.

Of the current crop only de Bruyne and Salah get close. Walker has a lot of trophies to his name, yes, but he's massively overrated IMO by English fans. He's seldom injured and he's very fast, that's it, that's literally all he has. He offers virtually northing going forward, especially in comparison to his contemporaries, and he's been fairly prone to lapses in concentration defensively throughout his career. Don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but that's where it stops; put any other relatively competent RB in the City teams of the Pep era and they'd have the same number of trophies as Walker does.

When creating World XI, Prem XI or whatever it may be, it's really important to understand people's weighting behind certain factors. I personally, can never understand why people put so much emphasis and weight on trophies. Football is all about winning, obviously. But when it comes down to individuals, surely trophies won doesn't equate to individual brilliance/ability. For example, you could argue that Ronaldo helped United win more titles, which is the same as saying he won them X amount of points. Salah has potentially won Liverpool more points, but less titles, due to the nature of the different seasons. Ronaldo is in my XI, but the reasoning of Trophies for me doesn't hold enough validity. For others it might which is why understanding people's weightings towards those factors is so important.

Purely based on there times in the Premier League it has to be Salah over Ronaldo for that RW spot and personally I do think Alisson makes it into the GK spot as he’s just so far ahead of other world class keepers in his position right now but or course he doesn’t have the longevity just yet or the titles to compete with Peter but time will tell I guess

Rory forgot that Man United had to go through Chelsea who were on par, in terms of outspending rivals and their title challenges, with City (currently) and beat that same Chelsea team in the final of the CL. Despite Chelsea and Abramovich's influences then Ronaldo won the Ballon D'or and the 3 league titles with United. Also no PL player has won the Ballon D'or since. And yes Gerrard and his teammates cannot be in the PL's greatest ever they've never won it. I mean Danny Drinkwater can be rated higher than Gerrard in that regard. The current City team can be considered. They've dominated the league like no other team.

I think you basically mentioned the 3 current players who could. Walker, De Bruyne and salah is the argument for now. Though i think you could also argue rodri as well just for how much he makes city click they are not the same without him but i don't think you can say it yet over Viera who is in my team. The keeper question is easy its Cech or Schmeichel thats the debate
