Okay first the CUE CARDS behind-the-scenes and now this...and all I have to say is MORE. Please. MORE. SNL is THE gold standard in television. Now I know why SNL is successful. It is the respect from actors and actresses to those who work tirelessly behind the scenes. I don't think I can stay on the job for 31 years with that kind of stress in my current mental condition.

It seems like they work Wednesday to Saturday night/early Sunday morning. So most of Sunday, all of Monday, and all of Tuesday are their days off. Doesn't sound too bad when you add that factor.

Love the behind-the-scenes stuff! Glad wardrobe got a nice long look. What they accomplish so quickly is nothing short of miraculous! I was so impressed how quickly they made all the costumes for the royal wedding sketch this past season! The wedding had JUST happened!

WOW, you're right. I used to do costumes for local shows and I got the exact same look on my face whenever I had to do a change in under 30 seconds. It's insane how focused you get. If you had asked me my name whenever I was in that mode, I probably would have said "shoes" or something lmao

James Franco made a documentary called "Saturday Night" a few years ago that chronicles the whole week's process. It used to be on Hulu, but I'm sure you can find it if you look around!

I’m a high school theater costume designer and this is so fascinating to me. I don’t want to do costumes for the rest of my life but if there was no other factors in my life, working costumes at SNL is just my dream career. The research aspect is the most interesting to me, partially because it is my favorite part of the process.

I was an actor in New York for 10 years, and I had some truly insane backstage quick changes, but this makes what I did look leisurely. Just ask around in the NY Film and TV scene, and they'll tell you the SNL Wardrobe department is the best. They are legends.

SNL is definitely responsible for my sense of humor and the way I work in theater. I don't do costumes, but one of my friends does and what I learned from him has made me super grateful for the work of a costume designer. He is so oriented in what he does and his ideas are so wildly amazing that I hope I see his name in the SNL costume credits. This seems like the perfect job for him :')

I love these little insights to the production process. They obviously keep all footage of the dress rehearsals and regular shows and all the stuff in between, so just once I would like to see them run a full dress rehearsal or a full show and leave in all the bits in between where the commercials would go. KZbin is the perfect showcase to do that.

I felt just a little frazzled watching this, which is how I imagine it must feel to be in SNL's costume department. The costumes are part of the comedy though. Sometimes just seeing the character is funny enough to make me laugh. Some of the political costumes have nearly knocked me on the floor.

Its hectic and professional and amazing. I think viewers these days would LOVE to see like a full show including the behind the scenes action in real time. Just to see what goes down and be able to appreciate the show on ANOTHER level. Because before these videos came out, when I thought about Saturday Night _Live_, I would just think about maybe quick changes and just getting lines right on air. But to see all this hard work week after week, its really an amazing, professional, and rigorous show that I never really knew about.

I'm out of breath, my heart is pounding, all while just sitting on my A$$. The creators, crew, cast how can they endure this - for 25 years he says at the end? - My gosh! Bill Hader doing this with near crippling anxiety, a wife and three kids, keeping his fingers calloused so he can pick up his guitar or bass and enjoy a moment of enjoyment, shopping, doing interviews, press, photo shoots. He said he would do touristy stuff after he left NYC because there was no time to do it while he worked at SNL. He's a known Wikipedia of film, so there's that, he's an avid reader, he runs on his treadmill - how did he manage?! #BillHader @5:54.

SNL one of the few productions still on that hold true to tradition of letting creatives create, thats why celebs keep going back even when its bad lol also doing this every week is insane. I'm sure they keep crew forever because this is a job that gets easier the more you do it

As a former dancer and theatre kid (ages 2-18) the quick changes are a force... I would take 6+ classes a year plus an extra three dances because I was in junior and senior dance company (different times respectively) and some of the costumes were so difficult so it was a lot... quick changes can make a person crazy

I do costumes for my high school theater (and I know they’re very different), and a lot of the stuff they did we do too. Rushed quick changes? Yup. Last minute changes? You got it. Making stuff that can easily put on and off? You know it.
