Thanks for including me! This is the best video I've ever seen on the topic, and I'm definitely going to borrow many of these ideas while filming my next series 😀

@learnWebCode, you are amazing at what you are doing. I have watched your Laravel course. Man never came across a course like that. You put all your efforts into that course. Good for you!

Valuable recommendations. Especially: 1) don't shortchange time spent explaining WHY something is done cuz learners won't internalize the how without full context, 2) outline key objectives required to solve a problem and introduce the terminology, 3) show common errors, especially if they are a sure sign the viewer missed a key recommendation that avoids that error. One key suggestion on physical environment... If recording in front of a bookcase or shelves, PAY ATTENTION to everything visible... book titles, knick knacks, etc.

What lavalier mic are you using there on this video?

To film these days I'm using a Canon xa30 (but it looks like the xa40 is the new model) with a wired Movo LV4-O Omnidirectional XLR Lavalier. However, if I were to start from scratch right now, I'd first try using my iPhone with a tripod and wired Lavalier condenser microphone (~$25).

21:38 That zooming thing is something I have a hard time with when people do in tutorials. Both in the editor and in the browser. And while I'm on it. The next thing with the red circle on the mouse pointer after click is hard to watch. Other than that. This is a really good tutorial video on how to make a good tutorial video. And Brad Traversy is the best.

I prefer text, because you can copy/paste the code and don't have to manually type.

You learn more when you type. So try not to avoid doing that. 🙂
