Sounds nothing like Gilmour to me.

Just tremendous demo, loved listening to the different tones, agree, as a long time MXR customer, they are dependable and always sound great at very fair price points, well done, MXR!!
@paulwatson40326 жыл бұрын
I agree that it doesn’t sound much like Gilmore but he is trying to do it all with one brand of pedals. Not even Gilmore would sound like Gilmore using just one brand of pedals. But as regarding his playing abilities make no mistake this lad can play. I’ve seen many of his other vids and the list of people he has associated with is to say the least impressive.
@rogeriosartori5557 жыл бұрын
I'd also include the mxr fet driver. good to emulate a tube driver and big muff. you can have both with this pedal.
@gazb20693 жыл бұрын
What a refreshing demo, no fancy stuff even tho you know he can nail the DG stuff, cant knock the MXR gear its been around for years, for a reason. Job well done !

Jamie, I always wondered who played that solo on the Auzzie Floyd Royal Albert Hall video from 2007 - Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. Now I know. That was awesome. Nobody plays that solo better than you. Thanks for your contributions on youtube.

The only thing I have to say is that Gilmour never used an Echoplex as far as I know. He was a very religious user of the old Binson Echoreque unit just the same as Syd Barrett. The Binson Echoreque used a magnetically charged drum instead of a loop of tape like the Echoplex used. The Binson Echoreque required a quite a bit of cleaning and maintenance to keep working properly, so around the Animals tour Gilmour changed to some rack mounted MXR digital delay units to take the place of the Binson Echoreque units. :)

His rig setup starting with The Wall, normally in this chain - Dallas Fuzz Face w/modified tone circuit, EH Big Muff, EH Electric Mistress, MXR DynaComp, MXR Phase 90, Cornish Treble/Bass Booster, Cornish vibrato pedal, Cornish volume pedal, rack MXR Digital Delay II
@theguitardude56132 жыл бұрын
I like that echo plex. Need to get one to go with my univibe.
@marpsr Жыл бұрын
Close but the Electric Mistress is a flanger and a chorus combined, not just a flanger
@seanalexander63103 жыл бұрын
Strat + Classic 108 silicon fuzz + Echoplex with preamp/dirty repeats = Pink Floyd - "Time" guitar solo. I wouldn't mind at all a pedal board consisting of just the Dunlop/MXR/Way Huge portfolio. You really can't go wrong.

Why would you "get into trouble" if you played DG's notes exactly?...And, did I understand you correctly that you used to play for a PF tribute band called "Australian Pink Floyd"? I learn something(s) from all "DG pedalboard" setups. Subscribed, and learning...and at 63 y/o I still have a lot to learn. He is THE best of the best! Thanks for your channel.

You can get taken down by youtube’s shitty copyright regulations if you play a song exactly as it goes

It does suck. When using an artist signature guitar, and advertising it, the idea should be to show how it sounds on the classic songs.
@mikeadams46057 жыл бұрын
In Europe, especially Germany, the videos get immediately take down if there are any actual songs played. He was only doing this so that people in Europe could actually watch the video

I am thinking of a budget setup like this: 1. Distortion Pedal 2. Wah pedal 3. Delay pedal 4. Chorus/reverb pedal 5. Flanger 6. Phaser Those six pedals should be able to give me the palette to create unique fun sounds without going broke. Maybe buy a cheap combo like a Line 6 M9/M13 setup.
@GuitarsAndSynths7 жыл бұрын
I will test drive those out when I get the chance. I liked the nano Big Muff pedal that I tried out today that was fun and the mini baby wah too.

A strat in the neck position is supposed to be a sweet spot? It sounds a bit sour to me. But no offense the guy can play, he is careful with even the positions he picks. But was expected more with the expense of the gear.

Gilmour never used a echoplex, he used a binson echorec for the remainder of the pink floyd sound from the early pink floyd sound to dark side of the moon to animals and then the wall, he still has it, you should've use the catalinbread echorec

We definitely need to start by tuning the guitar. I am sure he’s a really good guitar player, but this sounds nothing like Gilmour, not even close.
@braddietzmusic24296 жыл бұрын
Waaaayyyy too worried about copyright when uncountable amount of players on KZbin are making every effort to copy Gilmour (with widely varying levels of success). Interesting “all one brand” approach to Gilmour. Oops, I said it: Gilmour. And PINK FLOYD. The copyright cops and lawyers are surely on the way...

@rodolpheponthus29486 ай бұрын
Gosh he's exactly got the sound I don't want, shrill and fizzy lifeless.. what a waist of money if you buy all these pedals. The secret is to match a few very good pedals from diverse brands and find the magic combination. Gilmour (and others) use different brands for a reason. It's strange because in theory this pedal board should work, but it just doesn't. Maybe the tone stacks of these pedals are all based on similar chips, and they just mush up if you chain too many of them ? Whatever, this is informative, but not in the way it was meant to be 😅
